We ordered Butter Chicken and Chicken Mango again, and both dishes were just as creamy, flavourful, and perfectly seasoned as the first time—true comfort food that makes you happy. Paired with Garlic Naan, plain Naan, and Arroz Branco, it felt like the full Indian experience. Don’t miss the Mango Lassi either—it’s creamy, sweet, and bursting with mango flavor.
For dessert, we tried the homemade Mango Kulfi, a type of ice cream new to us and surprisingly delicious, and the Gulab Jamun, which was wonderfully sweet, warm, and chewy.
Overall, Gurkha Restaurant has become our absolute favourite restaurant in Lisbon. The food, the atmosphere, and the amazing staff make it unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy their diverse menu again—from chicken and lamb to fish and vegetarian dishes—all at very affordable prices. Highly recommended!
As a newcomer i chose the Chicken Tikka Masala with Pulau rice.
A lot of their food is spicy but they allow you to choose whether you want it to have spice or how strong.
I like spicy food and i didn’t think the Chicken Masala was too spicy.
The Pulau rice was nicely cooked and had a generous ammount of peas, cashew and spices.
Overall, i was positively impressed by the food’s, which was delicious, the staff was tireless and pleasant throughout the whole meal but the serving sizes of the chicken masala could be a bit more generous.
Another less positive part was the desserts which had a very modest listing and the Kulfi Pistacho (pistachio ice cream) was small, bland and gluey.
I found the prices to be somewhat steep for the serving sizes.
The food and the restaurant’s quality is, however, not to be questioned.
I will return to try some different dishes.
