Was in town to see family and stopped in for a couple beers on a Thursday evening. Great atmosphere and friendly people. They had just recently opened a nice sized addition to the building that looked great, and added a pool table, some slot machines, and blackjack table. The owners were really friendly. Our group was the last ones there and they kept it open for us for a while still. Definitely a 5-star experience from my perspective!

We were traveling through the area early afternoon. We stopped at another place in town for a beer and they said “we’re not open yet, Gunny’s up the road is”.
We looked it up on Google and by the name of it, it didn’t sound like a bar. Another review stated it was “a nice little bar but no bait” and rated it 1 star. It was probably because of that review that we had to check it out. “Gunny’s Bait & Tackle” doesn’t have bait, but has a bar??
I’m glad we did. It was a great little bar with friendly staff and locals. Definitely worth a stop, unless you only want bait.. which is at the local grocery store now.
