I had gumbo from this place I didnt like it the gumbo didnt taste right the worker gave me more rice than gumbo I want never go back there.it don’t look clean his hands had all that stuff on it looks like flower trying to take orders.its a long wait he said 15 mins it took more like 45 minutes. People is hanging out smoking when you walk up they just hanging without ordering. I was trying to dine in but couldn’t to many people sitting at the tables hanging out.

It was our first time there. A wonderful spot right on the corner of 7th and Broadway. They have 2 tables in a little counter space. We ordered the chicken Sausage gumbo, regular gumbo a shrimp, a boy, and I ordered the half-and-half 6 shrimp, 6 catfish, fries, fries and hash puppies. They have can sodas and water no fountain drinks. The cashier’s/waiters, they were nice and friendly. It’s more like a takeout place because there’s only 2 tables with chairs and then a bar like area with 3 barstools

I love this place i live way in Rialto and every time I’m in LA i have to stop by gumbo boys the egg rolls are fire red beans and rice omg it’s the bomb ever never had nothing like it also had the gumbo i will try Po boy next shrimp sausage my sister will order from here also and have it delivered to her place we get something from here one a week if i could every other day ❤️❤️❤️❤️ ️

Excellent taste of Louisiana in DTLA. The gumbo is flavorful and feels like something hard to find in LA. The fried catfish and gator bites are also great. The location is humble but service is good and food makes me want to come back.

As a Lousiana girl I can’t wait to try more of what they offer. Red beans and rice slapped and really hit the spot but tbh the etouffee was mid. Was more of a soup than a gravy but perhaps on a different day it’s better? Had lots of crawfish though which I appreciated. Not really a place to sit and eat at but will definitely be ordering more takeout from here!

Excellent spot with reasonable prices. I had a little parking issue. For some reason the parking lot closes at 7pm and some guy tried to lock my car inside but other than that food was great. I’ll definitely re visit..

So all in all I actually liked gumbo boys but If there’s a rotten attitude especially when you are making a complaint about you food and the profession is not there at all it’s all bad. I can’t believe that first of all there was a hair in my food, alongside that I finally get a hold of them and this man had the most disgusting attitude I have ever uncountered in the industry of business in my life and for this I will never eat there again that was a complete disaster because always remember if a person can’t genuinely allow you to say wat you have called to say first of all then they don’t have the courage to be genuine about making you food. This could be dangerous and in which the location itself is already discussing because of where it is but that careless energy and attitude was the icing for the cake. So no I wouldn’t dare to incourage anyone to stop here at all and honestly I don’t trust them because it’s very clear he don’t care about the customer at all

As a first time customer, I knew this spot was fire when many customers made line to order. Small spot in DTLA, but enough outdoor seating to wait while the chefs are busy at their craft. The food was hot and great! I had so many sauces to choose from to dip my food. I definitely left the Huss puppies til the end. 10/10 service and worth the wait. Next time I’m ordering Gumbo!

My Gumbo today was hot and cold. The guy who was high in THC said, it was the bowl that caused the cold. Omg! We blaming bowls today? No, the food was re-heated improperly. He said he would bring me hotter food and I gladly declined.

I wanted this to be better, sadly after getting a shrimp plate and eating the whole thing (the scrimp had the perfect crunch) about an hour or 2 later I vomited all my food up. I think it was too salty maybe.
