For more than 30 years, Gulfstream Cafe has been a sought-after spot for birthdays, anniversaries and more thanks to the picturesque waterfront view and authentic coastal cuisine. The laid-back atmosphere at this Garden City institution complements the fresh seafood and southern favorites, choice options include broiled Lobster Tail, creamy She-Crab Soup and jumbo lump Crab Cakes. Head back seasonal Oyster Roasts or watch the sunset on the rooftop deck, all wildly popular (and Instagram-worthy).
Views overlooking Murrell’s Inlet greet visitors to this relaxed restaurant with upscale seafood.

I am not sure where to begin with this review. Everything was so good, the staff is sensational, the views are marvelous, and the food is phenomenal! We had the bacon and hushpuppies as starters and added salads to our entrees. The hushpuppies are sweet, dessert-like and come with an incredible sauce. The bacon had all the right flavors and marbling to make it an experience. I ordered the 1000 Island dressing on my salad and that mixed with the bacon pieces were a true treat to my palate. I ordered the steak and shrimp with a baked potato, all I can say is the seasoning and the slightly blackened meat was like stepping on a cloud floating towards heaven. My daughter had the pasta with blackened chicken it was good with the chicken, yet astounding with my steak. My husband had the two racks of ribs with a fully loaded potato. This restaurant is part of the CentraArchy group and we have dined at other restaurants in the group that offer ribs. 27 years later and the ribs remain wondrous all these years later, the quality is still impeccable. I would say this restaurant is a strong contender for my top 7 (not sure why the random number) but definitely at the top for remarkable food, attentive service, and the sunset over the marsh paints a shifting canvas as you dine. They deserve 5 more stars, easy! Our next CentraArchy adventure will be one of the restaurants in the New Orleans area. We have had Chophouse there for our birthday dinners in 2024. I am thinking of taking my daughter to Bon Ton Prime Rib for her birthday dinner in February post Mardi Gras.

We were greeted with smile by our waitress Danielle who was amazing and a very positive person who loves her job. She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to make our Anniversary Dinner memorable at Gulf Stream. Manger Josh made a visit to our table to make sure our dinner and service met our expectation, he even arranged a complimentary glass of Champagne to top off a wonderful evening. Thank you Danielle, Josh and entire staff at Gulf Stream that made this a great experience , it’s our Favorite spot and will visit every time we come to Murrells Inlet .. keep up the great work

As beautiful as the sunrises are in Myrtle Beach, there just isn’t a great place to watch the sunset. There’s a few with partial views but the geography just doesn’t lend itself to that. But I discovered a great place for sunsets…The Gulfstream Cafe in Garden City! It’s a bit of a drive but it’s worth it! It’s just across the marsh from MarshWalk. It’s an interestingly designed restaurant a little off the beaten path. And there are quite a few stairs to navigate (as well as limited parking due to its popularity). But we made reservations timed to catch the sunset and were seated immediately when we arrived. We opted for the sunset deck on the upper level for the best view. Since it was Tuesday during the off season, we almost had it all to ourselves! The service was fast and courteous and we chose the Sunset Tower (with chilled shrimp, oysters, and lobster) which was delightful. Being a tequila aficionado, I tried the Fireside cocktail (a mix of mezcal, tequila, and a few other flavors) which was very good. We capped off the evening by sharing a sinful slice of their Key lime Pie. And the prices are very reasonable. With the help of our waiter, we took some beautiful photos. A gentleman whom I assume was the manager or owner came by and complimented us on “reserving” the sunset deck for ourselves. I grinned and said “it’s all about who you know…” It was a wonderful ending to our vacation and we look forward to coming back next time!

I can’t say enough good about this beautiful restaurant. First of all, we arrived at sunset so we were able to sit at a small, romantic table looking out over the inlet to see one of the prettiest sunsets Ive ever seen. The inside is built with open beams with beautiful staircase that leads to the bar and additional seating. Every bite of my dinner was amazing. I had the seafood platter, and everything was cooked perfectly. The owner was gracious to come to our table to check how our meal was and was so nice to answer any questions and genuinely wanted to know if we were pleased with our meal. I hope to return here many more times in the future. The prices were very reasonable and the food quality was excellent!!

Watching a sunset here is perfect, the most beautiful view around. We sat outside on the deck, our server Danielle was attentive and the seafood platter was delicious. The manager made a swing by to check on us and everything was perfect. A clear view if the UFO house right beside the restaurant is a bonus!

Great restaurant with a great view. The atmosphere was perfect, not to dressy but just right in a nice polo and beachy dress for the wife. The views of the inlet are breathtaking and the food was stunning. Our server was very attentive in the fact he was always there when we needed him, but never hovered. Great place all around, I highly recommend!

I cannot say enough good things about Gulf Stream Cafe! Tonight was our first time there. We were greeted right away by who I think must be the manager or owner and he gave us the best table. He came over to check on us. He gave us so many recommendations of places to go see and he even shared personal experiences with us.
Our waitress- Danielle ❤️. Was amazing. She was so attentive. She was so sweet and caring towards our children and she went above and beyond to make the night enjoyable (my husbands birthday). We can’t wait to go back!!!

The food was very good. We are regular diners at Gulfstream’s sister restaurant (California Dreaming) and the food here was every bit as good. The service was excellent, and the restaurant has a splendid view of the bay and the Murrel’s Inlet waterfront across the water. I overordered by ordering the hush puppy appetizer. I did not realize that the meal came with bread and hush puppies were included as a part of my fried shrimp platter. Our server, Gabby did a superb job. She was welcoming and efficient.
