Great place with amazing food. Nice ambiance and decor. Music was not deafeningly loud like in some other places and had a variety of styles and genres, not just exclusively the native uzbek tunes.
And the best thing is definitely the food. It was simply great. I loved their cold soup Kuksi so much that we even took one to go. Hope they still offer it.
Plov was very good as well, with an ideal amount of oils and spices, very tender meat, and perfectly cooked rice. We also ordered a mixed shish kebab, and it all was prepared amazingly well: juicy and tender.
I highly recommend this place, and we will definitely be back.

First time here. I wanted to order the Filet Mignon, but found out that it needed to be pre-ordered at least 24 hours in advance. So we tried other things. The lamb dumplings were delicious, like the Shanghai soup dumplings, but bigger, and more delicious, and available with lamb meat stuffing. It’s better than any other Uzbeki or Turkish or Mediterranean restaurants we tried before. The fried carp has tiny bones in it, so be careful. But most of it are crunchy and crispy and therefore not a big problem to me. It is very lightly salted, or perhaps not at all. I like it like this. But perhaps for others who are used to the American fish and chips, this may not be salty enough. The lamb ribs kebab is really very good. I wouldn’t mind ordering two of this next time. The Lagman, which is a pulled noodles in soup dish. I must say, again, this lagman is the best I’ve had compared to other Uzbeki restaurants. Firstly, it has nearly zero oil or fat, unlike other restaurants. Secondly the seasoning is really perfectly spot on. Will definitely return for their chef’s specials, all of which needed to be preordered in advance.

Gulchatay is pleasantly delicious with a wide variety to choose from. Meats, fish, various shish kebabs and manti.
A special note about a very pleasant service, simply outstanding. All the questions answered, nicely set up and presented.
Lastly, a note to the chief- Everything was delicious. Keep it up and see you again! Enjoy!

This restaurant had the best Manti I have ever tried! Honestly, I just came from there and had to right away write a review. From the service (the two girls, I believe her name was Fatima and the other not sure) but they were so friendly, always smiling, and kind. The other lady, I believe manager or owner was also very sweet. The food was great, shashlik top notch. I really liked everything, and that’s very hard to find in Brooklyn especially for our types of cuisine. A lot of other Uzbek and similar cultural places tend to always have an attitude, and some bad service or food. But this one gave me a feeling of back home. Yes it is little pricey like 20$ for shashlik, but I really enjoyed it and will be coming back !

Middle Asian restaurant that has been on my bucket list for a while. Not disappointed. All dishes we ordered were well cooked and garnished with fresh cilantro. Our servants were very polite and friendly. Despite of the fact that my fried carp fish was served later than other dishes, everything else was served fine. Spoiler- no wine or beer wasn’t allowed, but no charge was placed if you bring your own bottle. Enjoyed a friendly atmosphere there: had no loud music and had comfortable seats. Definitely worth to step for lunch or dinner.

I’ve been to this restaurant more than once, so I can say it’s a great place! Incredibly tasty, so I think the price corresponds to the quality. Incredibly friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, music on the background is pleasant to the ear. My undisputed favorite on the menu is Beff Lula. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to have a good time with their family or friends!

Restaurant Gulchatay is a true hidden gem!
From the moment you walk in, you feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere. This isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a place where you’re greeted like a valued guest.

The staff is polite, attentive, and never intrusive, yet always nearby if you need anything. It’s clear they genuinely care about your comfort.

The food is beyond praise — delicious, beautifully presented, and made with love. Every dish feels like a little celebration of flavor.

Cozy, tasty, and homey — we’ll definitely be coming back!
