The food here was excellent! Both my partner and I had delicious lobster rolls, and split a lobster bisque. If you’re visiting Connecticut like we were I can’t think of a better place to have a lobster roll than on a dock by the water. Worth noting they are cash only and have an ATM inside.

However there was a substantial yellow jacket population and they were none too afraid of us. Several crawled inside her soda before we could cover the top.

I would recommend this place whole heartily if they could eliminate the yellow jackets entirely. To their credit I counted at least 5 traps, all working very well but not well enough to save our Pepsi can.

If you’re searching for one of the best warm lobster rolls in Connecticut, Guilford Lobster Pound belongs at the top of your list. The lobster roll is everything you want it to be—fresh, buttery, and flavorful, but not overly soaked. The bun is perfectly toasted and generously filled with tender lobster meat from end to end.

This isn’t just my opinion either—they’ve consistently ranked among the top 3 lobster rolls in Connecticut in various local magazines and food publications.

The homemade coleslaw and potato salad are the perfect sides—simple, fresh, and satisfying. I paired it with a classic canned Arnold Palmer, which was just right on a warm afternoon.

While the menu includes hot dogs and Georgia hots, this is a seafood shack at heart. The atmosphere is casual and authentic, with plenty of picnic tables dockside overlooking the marina. It’s first come, first served, cash only, and BYOB, so come prepared. There’s also a large open-air tent for shade, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the view.

If you’re looking for a true New England summer seafood experience, Guilford Lobster Pound delivers.

The lobster was definitely fresh and good quality, and the bun was soft and nicely toasted. But overall, the roll just didn’t wow me. It could’ve used more butter and seasoning to really bring the flavor out, it ended up tasting a little too plain. Not bad, just not memorable for the price

What a gem! My favorite lobster roll in Connecticut so far. Came here on a very hot day but it was comfortable sitting under the tent in their shaded tables and it was so serene by the water. The people and service were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome and taken care of. The lobster roll was perfection and no-nonsense — exactly what I was hoping for with a buttery bun that never got soggy and warm lobster meat caught fresh by the owners earlier that morning. The quality doesn’t get better than that, in my opinion! They also had lobster bisque that day which was creamy, flavorful, and overall just excellent. This place was worth the drive and I would come here again. (Just make sure to bring cash with you!)

Cute place and easy to get to right off 95. I love Connecticut lobster rolls but this was not my favorite one- the butter had a chemically after taste. My husband had the lobster grilled cheese and that was fine but the lobster taste was a but drowned out.

Spectacular!!! Everything here is fantastic. Sean was our server- friendly and fast! What a view- beautiful marsh and Guilford Harbor and we saw a fishing boat come in. The food is amazing. We had shrimp cocktail. Huge shrimp and tasty flavorful cocktail sauce. The lobster rolls were PACKED with perfectly cooked lobster meat. It was definitely more than 4oz. Served warm on a perfectly toasted bun that stayed crisp and never soggy. Free parking. Table service- fast. Picnic tables. Shaded and spacious and clever garbage bucket hanging on each table. Great value and our new favorite place for Lobster rolls in the area. The best by far.

Such a beautiful friendly place with a warming staff who treats you like family with beautiful views of the boat harbor. My lobster roll was full of savory Hugh chunks of lobster. The fresh coleslaw was crisp and delicious the lobster grilled cheese was amazing and I’m super picky with chili dogs but this was by far my favorite chili dog ever. Thank you for a warm experience I’m looking forward to coming back

Best warm lobster roll I have had throughout New England! Parking is a bit tight. I was informed by staff that it is BYOB, so be sure to not miss that. Dock seating with a nice view. Items are à la carte but reasonably priced. Be aware that they are cash only but have an ATM.

I eat Lobster all summer long, all around CT. This Lobster roll ranks right up there with the best of the best. Generous portion, and a bargain (these days) at $26. Service could not be any nicer and the view speaks for itself. I’ll be back. Soon.
