I’ve wanted to try a hot pot dinner forever and finally got the chance today. Our set came with the pot, fuel and spoons which was great. The pork/chive dumplings were AMAZING and I highly recommend them. Our entire meal was very interesting and we enjoyed every minute of it. I just wish there were instructions for first timers in the box since we had no idea what we were doing and much if the food was a mystery to us. A quick call to the restaurant cleared up most of our confusion though.

I ordered takeout totaling around $120 from DoorDash today. Unfortunately, more than half of the items I received didn’t appear fresh, especially the box of lamb. The color seemed off, and it had an unpleasant smell. It seems they are not serving fresh food maybe they over prepared during regular semester. I originally reached out to the owner through WeChat to request just the refund for this particular box only but no one responded me back. We are frequent customers, and it seems that their food quality has went down a lot.

I can remember having hot pot at my best friend’s house growing up and I’ve always loved the social aspect of hot pot compared to traditional American food. GuDong is the most authentic hot pot service I’ve had since I was a boy and I would recommend it to anyone who wants their tastebuds to be extremely satisfied.

I have yet to actually try the food here but I absolutely plan on it! I picked up an order for ubereats today and was very impressed by the love the owner clearly puts into her work. She double checked the order in front of me and separated the hot and cold foods into separate bags. She also had one of the sauces in a glass jar which personally I think says a lot about the level of care she has. She made sure everything would be okay in the bag and I assured her I would take good care of it. I’ve never seen a business with such personal touch. I will definitely order from her myself soon. 🙂

I don’t think I can express how satisfied I am! The woman who gave me my food was super kind, and the whole set up was just amazing. Them giving you a mini hot pot, utensils, flame for the hot pot, and all the ingredients to do it at home? What an amazing deal, and a great idea. I had so much fun setting it and cooking all the ingredients with my husband. It’s a great date idea and they also give you all the cooking times for the food if you don’t know how long to cook it. The packaging was clean and amazing. Very eye appealing and easy. 100% love this place and it’s people.
