Irecently had the pleasure of dining at Guatemex Mexican Restaurant, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a lively, inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a great meal.
The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we ordered was packed with fresh ingredients and bold, authentic flavors. You can really tell that care goes into the preparation. Even better, the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes and quality of the meals. It’s the kind of place where you leave completely satisfied without feeling like you overspent.
What truly made the experience stand out, though, was the service. Our waiter was awesome—friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our meal. He checked on us frequently, made sure everything tasted great, and quickly handled anything we needed. That level of attentiveness made us feel valued and well taken care of.
Overall, Guatemex delivers on all fronts: flavorful food, affordable prices, and outstanding service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious Mexican meal in a welcoming environment.

Stopped in here because my husband is Guatamelan/Mexican.. service was excellent. Our server was very informative and kind. We received complimentary chips and salsa (freshly made). We ordered the tamarindo and michelada, both were nice. I ordered the mixed ceviche as an appetizer and it was both beautiful and tasty. My main was the whole fried fish and my husband’s main was the chicken enchiladas. The fish was delicate, and accompanied by Spanish rice, salad, fries and my choice of wheat or corn tortillas. Our server said the corn tortillas were handmade, so naturally I ordered the corn tortillas. All was delicious. My husband’s main was flavourful and masterfully cooked. It had a little spice to it, which we both enjoyed. I ended our meal with an order of tres leche, which came drizzled with chocolate. A nice decadent treat to finish off a gorgeous meal. Thank you to our server and the cook, who is his mom!

A bit overpriced, 90%mexican,only 3 items I can think are guatemalan, only a few people wen I went there, food came out fast good flavor. But please be careful how you let your servers dress, you should definitely have dress code, this restaurant is not hooter or a sport bar, should be a family oriented restaurant. That’s my tough..

Place: is clean and spacious with a nice atmosphere.
Service: is fast and friendly.
Food: is good
– my husband thought the shrimp tostada was great
– I had the flautas – those need improvement in my opinion (Mexican flautas are made with corn tortillas not flour, and they should be deep/fully fried, the meat should be shredded beef not ground beef, and it should have salsa on top or the side. What I got was more like chimichangas which I don’t like).
I hope to see this restaurant succeed nonetheless. I will be trying something different next time.

New place. Not too busy yet but I think people should give it a try. Decently priced good, good service, good presentation and taste to the food. Look forward to seeing this place be more busy.

After driving past it a thousand times, finally stopped for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Finally found a good Mexican restaurant in Stewart. Restaurant decor is basic, but food is great as was service. I had a supreme burrito and my wife had a cheese enchilada. Both used quality ingredients and a cut above other mex restaurants in town. Excellent taste, without resorting to overly spicing it. Will definitely return.

Wonderful friendly service, fun ambiance, and very good food for the price. We love the shrimp tacos. Most tacos (not shrimp) are only $2 on Tuesday. You can mix and match, buy as many or as few as you want.
