We came back for a brunch at this restaurant. The skirt steak with eggs were just okay. Even though we requested medium steak with over medium eggs it came out well done for both. The flavor was okay not as good as the skirt steak flavor for dinner. Mimosa was only $4 which is a great deal. Everything was a little bit on the salty side for our visit this time with the brunch. Sopapilla was pretty good. Light fluffy pastry with confectioner’s sugar sprinkled on top and berry compote and drizzleed with condensed milk and served with a scoop of ice cream.
The menu prices weren’t too affordable, but the serving size was decent. I didn’t dare order a margarita because those prices are insane. 27$ for a large marg is crazy might as well just drink them at home for that price.
You are greeted with free chips and salsa when you’re seated. There were 2 different
salsas and unfortunately I didn’t care for either because they had a strong taste of cumin. I ordered the beef tacos and was disappointed with the taco meat. It was a weird texture and tasted like beef soup in a taco shell which was unappetizing. I barely ate half of one taco and couldn’t eat any more of it— so that was 16$ wasted. My son ordered the birria tacos and those looked so much better than what I ordered. He ate every last bit so I know they were delicious.
All in all the food was decent and so was the service. If we decide to come be back here, I will have to try something else and hope to have a better experience.
Guapo’s in Falls Church: A Fiesta for Your Taste Buds!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Guapo’s Mexican Restaurant in Falls Church, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! From the moment you walk in, the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere sets the perfect tone for a delicious meal.
The service was top-notch – our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made some excellent recommendations. But let’s talk about the food, because that’s where Guapo’s truly shines. Every dish we ordered was bursting with fresh flavors and prepared with obvious care. The salsa and guacamole were incredibly fresh and a perfect start, and the fajitas were sizzling, flavorful, and incredibly generous in portion size. I also highly recommend their margaritas – perfectly balanced and a great complement to the meal.
Whether you’re looking for a lively spot for a night out or a satisfying family dinner, Guapo’s delivers. It’s clear why this place is a local favorite. I left feeling completely satisfied and already planning my next visit. If you’re in the Falls Church area and craving authentic, delicious Mexican food, look no further than Guapo’s!
I really enjoy your food, and yesterday I visited the restaurant with a friend who invited me to lunch. She gave me the opportunity to choose the place so she could get to know it and we could catch up. We ordered appetizers and then our main course. Everything was going well until, without asking us, our plates were removed while we still had food on them.
After that, even though we had not requested the check, it was brought directly to our table. We were surprised, as we were still planning to order dessert and some margaritas after finishing our meal. However, once the check was placed on the table, we felt it was no longer appropriate to order anything else.
Shortly after, the person attending our table quickly returned to collect the payment. My friend was still finishing her drink and had not even taken out her card when she asked, “Do we need to leave?” Although the response was no, the moment felt very uncomfortable. We felt pressured to leave, especially considering the restaurant was quite empty — it was around 3:30 p.m., and there were many available tables with no one waiting.
To avoid making this longer, my friend paid, and we decided to go to the Starbucks next door for coffee and dessert. Honestly, I felt embarrassed because I was the one who recommended the restaurant.
I sincerely hope you can improve these details in your service. I truly love the food, but this experience was very uncomfortable, and unfortunately, I will hesitate before bringing another guest in the future.
Thank you for your attention.
Guapo Mexican Restaurant at 3052 Gate House Plaza, Falls Church, VA delivered an exceptional meal from the first bite to the last.
I ordered the tamale dinner, followed by two hard-shell beef tacos, and every part of the meal was outstanding. The tamales were rich, moist, and full of deep, authentic flavor. The seasoning was perfectly balanced, not overpowering, and tasted fresh and homemade. Each bite was comforting and satisfying, the kind of meal that reminds you why traditional Mexican food done right truly stands out.
The hard-shell beef tacos were just as impressive. The beef was well-seasoned, tender, and flavorful, with a great texture that paired perfectly with the crisp shells. The toppings were fresh, well-portioned, and complemented the meat without taking over. Every bite had crunch, flavor, and balance.
Portion sizes were generous, leaving you full and satisfied without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Presentation was clean and appetizing, and the food arrived hot and clearly prepared with care.
From flavor to portion size to overall quality, this was a five-star-plus experience. If you are in the Falls Church area and want a meal that delivers comfort, quality, and bold flavor from start to finish, Guapo Mexican Restaurant is a must-visit.
