From scratch food served with a smile. The daily special was delicious; cut pork, rice, beans, and a tamal. I added a side of rice pudding to top it off and I won’t need dinner. It was plenty of food!
Half of a Cuban sandwich is a meal in itself. Loaded with ham and tasty mustard.
Nothing is spicy but sauce is included if you’d like to spice yours up. I highly recommend giving that a shot.
The prices are extremely reasonable and even a bit higher I’d still stop in. The owners are warm and inviting. A much needed addition to Penrose.

Someone recommended this place to us being that we frequent the Florida Keys.
I have never had good Cuban food in Colorado until now.
This place is pleasantly deceptive. Do not judge on appearance of the place.
You owe it to yourself.
Although the appearance isn’t bad. Its just unconventional.
Going in, it is squeaky clean. There are no heavy oil smells as Someone else suggested.
We ordered cafe con leche.
It was good. Very close to the real deal.
We got some tostones. It was close enough to Cuban bread.
The spinach empanada was a winner.
We also ordered a Cuban mix and a midnight sandwich.
The Cuban mix was perfection.
Rhe bread was close but the way the sandwich was crafted was authentic.
The people of Penrose are lucky to have some rich culture in their town.
We also ordered a few mango empanadas. They were amazing.
Crispy and buttery.
My daughter convinced me to give me half of mine.
Everything hit the spot.
Everything was cheap and the portion sizes were very generous.
The owner was sweet and attentive and proud of her food. Rightfully so.
I cant recommend this enough.
A+

The food was good. Sandwiches were huge! And not too expensive. The beef balls were good and crispy. Unfortunately the empanadas were old hard and inedible but they gave us an extra beef ball in the order so I’m not too upset. The ice cream was good and only $2! It was the perfect little desert. The lobby was inviting and the people were friendly. My only thing about the lobby was that once I left with my order, I had to shower and change my clothes due to the very strong cooking oil smell that stuck to me. I will definitely go back though. The sandwiches were excellent!

Soo good! Service was great! We have been in person and ordered through doordash and both times we were super satisfied!
Midnight sandwich is soooo good! Potato balls are also delicious, plantains are so good.
Any time we have eaten here everything has been delicious, hot and fresh.

Passing through Penrose and the Cuban Cafe was recommended by multiple people. Let me tell you it lives up to the hype. Absolutely fantastic Cuban food. The service was quick and the ladies were incredibly nice and inviting. My wife and I shared the Cuban sandwich, a cream cheese pastry and the beef and potato ball. The Cuban sandwich might be the best I’ve eaten. The pastry was flaky and warm. I almost forgot to mention the wonderful Cuban coffee. I’d leave multiple 5 star reviews if I could. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!

I absolutely love this place! If you’re not sure exactly what Cuban food is, and are wary for that reason, go anyway! I’ve only had the sandwiches so far, three different types, and they are all awesome. If no one said the word Cuban to you, you would just simply think they were excellent tasting meat and cheese sandwiches. There are some other items that are more distinctly Cuban, and I recommend trying those as well. Particularly the plantains!
Oh! And the couple running the place are incredibly nice and friendly!

Absolutely loved this place! South Florida transplant and it was legit. Owner absolutely lovely saw her and her crew hustling. Turn around on the food was fast and fresh! Had the steak sandwich and it was delicious. My husband had the classic cuban and didn’t disappoint. Got the coconut and cheese pastry and tres leches.

My girlfriend and I stopped in the other day for lunch and I was amazed at how clean everything looked! Smelled amazing the moment you walk in too. From the bathroom to the main lobby to the views of the kitchen you see while ordering. Excellent sandwiches! Everything tasted so good. Really nice folks who own and run this place! Great to get some authentic and well made Cuban food here in CO has an east coast transplant.

My daughter and I tired this place for the first time last night and it was amazing. The food and service was phenomenal. The sandwiches were great not too much bread to fixings. The sandwiches are also big enough to eat on their own. We also got the potato beef balls and fried plantains. We ordered to go and before leaving the sweet lady at the front told us she put some pastries in the bag for us free of charge.

If you want the most delicious, homemade Cuban food, you have to go to Guajiros.
I used to think Porto’s, in SoCal, was the best, but no more!
Guajiros beats them, hands down.
Tender, flavorful pork, ham and cheese Cuban sandwiches!
Whether you order the Cuban, or the Midnight Sandwich, (Media Noche), you can’t go wrong.
The Potato Balls are big, savory, and filling!
Don’t forget dessert! It’s pastry heaven!
Guava, or guava with cheese, pastries, simply sublime, and addicting. I couldn’t eat just one!
Top it off with one of their Cuban coffees. I suggest the Leche, it’s wonderful.
Guajiros is my new favorite place.
