Mexican favorites are dished at this traditional cantina, popular for its moles, tacos & margaritas.

I’ve been coming here for well over 10 years. Something has happened. It feels tired. It’s definitely under staffed. The food was kinda sad.
Got the fish tacos and shrimp tacos – two people. The fish was a few pieces of breaded fish, some onions and mayo on two unseasoned tortillas. They weren’t bad, but these days this is less than expected and just kinda plain. There’s half a dozen other places I could mention which would be a much better experience.
As I mentioned – on this night, they were completely under staffed.
This used to be a go to for Mexican in the neighborhood, but now, I won’t return.

Very fast service, friendly staff, delicious Mexican food, the portions are small, so this gives you room to try lots of things from the menu. Must try guacamole and ceviche, their salsa with chips is gonna make you eat it non stop!

Friendly service. Not the best Mexican food in the world, but tasty and fresh. We’ve been there twice while staying in Arlington and would absolutely come back.

Was surprised to find such a cozy place serving authentic Mexican. Had to try the molé poblano as it’s not a common find, and it’s just like my grandmother use to make! The salsa was fresh, like it was made from the garden, served with home made tortilla chips. Would recommend house marg. And definitely coming back to taste the menu

A bit of a mixed bag. The chips and salsa have always been good here. My son’s carne asada tacos and my wife’s veggie fajitas were good. My chicken enchiladas left a lot to be desired. They were dry with not much sauce. Given the prices you would think they could fly to New Mexico and learn how to make an enchilada. My daughter’s nachos were pretty good. All for $85(tip included).

Lively and rustic restaurant offering sumptuous starters and packed main dishes. There’s something here for everyone.
Great beers and tequilas on offer.
We were welcomed with home cooked nachos with a hot salsa.
We ordered starters of cheese nachos and a salad as we hummed and deliberated the mains.
We went for Shrimp Tacos, Pollo Mole and Skirt Steak.
The waiting staff are very polite and attentive. They kept our water topped up and gave us a load of tips.
130$ for three of us including 3 beers and the tip. Great value for the quality and authenticity of the food.

Guajillo is my go to spot for date nights with my partner. The atmosphere, the ambiance, the food, and the amazing customer service is what continually brings me back to this hidden gem in Arlington. Apart from the hospitality i find myself craving the ceviche, sizzling fajitas, and classic house margaritas. Thank you for making our date night so special Guajillo! 10/10 recommend ⭐️

Guajillo is one of those hidden gems that you fall in love with after just one visit. The food is authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care — everything from the fresh guacamole to the enchiladas tastes homemade. The mole sauce is especially amazing — rich, complex, and perfectly balanced.
The atmosphere is cozy and colorful, with a true family-run feel that makes you feel welcome right away. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always happy to offer recommendations (they really know their menu!).
Drinks are also a highlight — the margaritas are strong, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Whether you come for a casual dinner or a fun night with friends, Guajillo never disappoints.
Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in Northern Virginia. Highly recommend!

This was, without a doubt, one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.
My entire family walked in, politely said “good evening” to the waiter, and he completely ignored us. No greeting back. No eye contact. Nothing. Then he literally tossed the menus onto the table in front of us with an attitude that made us feel completely unwelcome.

I enjoyed dinner at Guajillo with friends, and it was a delightful experience. The Mezcalita was easy to drink and would be perfect on a hot summer day. The table salsa and chips were stellar. The enchiladas were delicious, and the serving was generously large. The decor is charming, creating an intimate atmosphere. It’s truly a hidden gem for anyone in the mood for Mexican cuisine.
