Oooo! Someone made grandma mad in the kitchen because this salsa verde is HOT! So good! I’ve been coming here for the past 3 days and have no regrets! Pozole 100%. Caldo de Pollo 100%. Mini taco plate with beef fajita 100%. My partner has also enjoyed everything he’s ordered. Good people here, take care of them. Thank you!

Delicious, authentic Mexican food. Good family place, and I’m certain great for a workday lunch. Sorry, I ate the steak fajita before a picture. The beef taco salad had the same delicious sliced steak as the steak fajita. I was in steak heaven.

What i will stay upfront is it’s hard for any restaurant much less a Mexican restaurant in South central Texas in a low traffic area to do really good. I also ordered through the drive-through at 9:30 on a Monday and I was the only customer so I give the benefit off of the doubt. They didn’t have a taco menu where you could order individual tacos which I realize in some cases is not that crazy but for a Mexican restaurant in New Braunfels, Texas on the north east side, kind of inexcusable. I ordered a beef quesadilla and an order of chips and salsa. The good thing is that the portions were great. It came with beans rice guac. I also ordered chips and salsa which was a decent size. I paid $18 which given the current circumstance in the economy is not that crazy although unfortunately relatively high through no fault of their own but here’s the truth. The tortilla was mid. The beef was OK overcooked but probably sitting there waiting for the last couple of orders of the day. The guac was un-flavorful. The beans were 6/10. rice was a five. The texture of rice was perfect just were bland. Lastly, I asked if the salsa was spicy they said yes. I even asked if they had a more spicy salsa to which they said they had some already in the bag. neither spicy. To be fair, I’ll give this place another try. Overall 4.5 out of 10 = 2 stars

I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but today’s experience at Guadalajara Bar & Grill was unacceptable.
Our waitress wasn’t overtly rude at first — she smiled, acted friendly, and everything seemed fine. But as soon as she realised I didn’t speak Spanish (even though the rest of my group does), she started making comments in Spanish to coworkers and laughing at me. It was very clear they were making fun of me, and it made the entire situation uncomfortable and embarrassing.
I was polite, kind, and asking normal questions about the menu, and instead of being helpful she acted like it was hilarious. On top of that, the food wasn’t good — the rice tasted like plastic with zero seasoning, and the caldo was mostly fat with barely any meat.
The worst part? After my father-in-law left her a generous tip, she added extra tip onto the card without permission. That crosses the line from disrespectful to dishonest.
Between the poor food, unprofessional behaviour, and fraudulent tipping — we won’t be returning. Hopefully management takes this seriously, because customers shouldn’t be mocked, disrespected, or charged extra behind their backs.

We are from Houston and was looking for a nice dinner while here in NB. The food is AMAZING!!! The portion sizes are not for the faint of heart. The staff here is very knowledgeable and friendly. Our waitress Carolina was the nicest! The 1/2 pound beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas will last you for a few days. This is definitely our new place to come when we come to visit this amazing city.

I’ve overlooked several order errors here in the past because I’m usually too far away to turn back, but today was the final straw. I waited at the speaker for 2 minutes while the staff finished a personal conversation. Despite me being very specific and the employee repeating my order back to me (2 chicken fajita tacos on corn with veggies, 2 chicken fajita tacos on corn plain, and a half-and-half tea with extra ice), almost everything was wrong.
The staff was so distracted by their own conversation at the window that I was handed a sweet tea with light ice. When I asked for the extra ice I ordered, I received an eye roll. Upon arriving at my destination, I found the tacos were on flour instead of corn. It’s disappointing to pay for a specific meal and receive something entirely different because the staff is more interested in chatting than their jobs.

Absolutely disgusted with this place. We’ve been coming here for 3 years and I’m so disappointed in the service received by management today. We just had a baby and needed something easy, so we ordered a taco salad. The meat was completely raw and the entire thing at the bottom was full of water. We’ve eaten this several times here and have never had it look this way. Yet, when my husband called to see if we could get it refunded they said they would just make us a new one. We live over 20 minutes away and did not want to load the family up (I literally just gave birth) just to go get another one. It wasn’t worth it. I get told when I called back explaining the situation, “I dont know what to tell you. We already made a new one but it’s going to be soggy too. We use different meats so that’s why it looked raw. The lettuce creates water at the bottom of the shell. You can come in and pick it up.”I explained that we just had a baby and my husband didn’t want a new one made because we have an AC guy at our house and we just wanted a refund. I also do not know why if I ordered GROUND BEEF, that there would be different meat in there…and why it’s raw. But whatever. She got very catty with me on the phone after I was being very reasonable. My husband ended up making the drive by himself and brought the salad in. The manager had every single cook and employee standing behind her over a taco salad lol. Very confrontational. Where’s the compassion? It was not our mess up that this happened, it was theirs. I’m more upset about the fact that I was being very nice and she immediately got catty with me instead of apologizing and owning up to their mistake. Don’t waste your time eating here. Y’all just lost customers that have been coming here for years. We also know plenty of people that go here, so I will be telling them as well not to eat here.
