I now have been twice to Guac N Tacos on York Rd. downtown Elmhurst. Not only is the menu FABULOUS but its the over experience that will make you want to go back. Love the decor, the gorgeous serving plates, and the welcoming staff. I recently got to meet the owner Yerika and hear her passion for making Mexican cuisine for her guests. So glad she choose Elmhurst!

I had high hopes for Guac n Tacos, but unfortunately, the experience fell flat. Upon arrival, we were seated quickly, but it took over 10 minutes for a waiter to even come by and take our drink and appetizer order, despite the restaurant not being busy at all.
We started off with the guacamole and chips, hoping for something special since “Guac” is in the restaurant’s name. Sadly, the guac was very mediocre—definitely not what I expected. I’ve had much better guacamole elsewhere.
For our main course, we ordered the veggie tacos and the veggie bowl. Both were disappointing. The flavors were lackluster, and the overall quality just wasn’t there.
Given the slow service and underwhelming food, I don’t think I’d come back. There are plenty of other places that offer better service and more flavorful food.

Guac N Tacos really have the best Mexican food in town. The wide selection of tacos is perfect for my family, and we all have our favorites. My favorites are the tacos al pastor, chicken mole, the chicken enchiladas, and the amazing corn side. The fish tacos and birria are also family faves. Love it!

I picked up some food for lunch today, 11/20/25. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and an order of two steak tacos. The food was horrible and the enchiladas dish had a small hair in the food. Prepared very unhygienic and tasteless food. The tacos were so bad and not worth the price. We have tried many Mexican restaurants in the area including the ones in Oak Brook. This is the worst food we ever had in a similar sized Mexican eatery. Will never go back.

My first time there – but there were a couple of things I wished were different.
1) the size of the glass for the Margarita wish it was bigger especially for the price you paid – *but the drink was good
2) the chicken tacos I ordered were (ok) the chicken was in chunks and too dry so it made it hard to eat my friend had the chicken burrito and she had the same problem would definitely go back and try something else.

Okay this place is great! There is another Mexican place right across the street, don’t be swayed by the cute patio. The food and drinks are better here. There is outdoor seating in the front of the building.
We had tacos and guacamole and really the only small comment was I wanted salt in the guacamole. Super easy fix.
My brother mixed his chorizo and pastor tacos and loved them. I had the chorizo and the carnitas. Both were flavorful and full tacos. Also normally I would say I like flour tortillas over corn because they get hard and fall apart (yes I know don’t care I like what I like). HOWEVER these corn tortillas stayed soft, didn’t fall apart, and had great corn flavor.
And the margaritas- yum! I had the spicy habanero and it was spicy. I order pepper margaritas all the time and they never have spicy, this one is spicy and boozy.

Beautiful, calming atmosphere. Food was amazing, definitely try the shrimp tacos. The salsas were the perfect dipping for the steak torta, but so not needed. Everything was incredibly flavorful. Staff is very friendly. The signature margarita was SO good!!
