Overall, the food was fine. Generally, my gripes are that there is limited vegetarian or vegan variety in this menu and the service was very slow. It took a long time for our food to be served and there was nobody else in the entire restaurant. The flavor of the dishes was good when we got our food, but this isn’t a place I’d go back to over and over.

Although I find this place to have good food, sometimes the customer service, order accuracy, and or state of the dining room can be questionable.
I have come over a dozen times in the last six months alone, and the food is always on point, but so much room for improvement in everything else.
A few times, I ordered through delivery and found mistakes in my order. I always end up getting my money back, but damn, all I want is my food to be correct when i go to sit down once i get home.
Today I walked in and ordered at the counter and found the place in a poor state. Chairs all pulled back, and various pieces of trash were around the floor.
The worst part of my visit was when he took my entire order, and then 3 minutes later, after I sat with my son to wait for him to mention they don’t have tinga anymore. Does the cook not speak to the cashier? Had I known there was no tinga, I would not have ordered. Tinga is my wife’s favorite, and as such, I needed to visit another Mexican restaurant to complete my order for the night. He immediately gave me a refund but couldn’t give me a receipt although I asked for one… He said he couldn’t because the system doesn’t print one for refunds.

Clean, well-managed restaurant with a lot of yummy taco options. I ordered pastor, steak and pork belly, they are all very good. Do add guacamole if you like it, really brings the taste to the next level. The price is also very good for what you get!

My wife and I are regulars at the other Elmhurst Guac n Tacos location and loved it. We just went in for the first time at the new location and were pretty disappointed. The food had a lot of issues: long wait, quesadilla was not cooked properly, plate was dirty. Hoping this is just their new phase and they fix things.

We ordered fries and didn’t know it came with cheese lettuce sour cream jalapeño. When we got our order and was it wasn’t just plan fries we told them this wasn’t what we asked for. The man in the front asked we asked for fries so he assumed that’s what we were asking for. Then when we got our fries it was the equivalent of a small fries at McDonald’s. For 10 dollars. Chicken was super dry. Overall we won’t come back. Could have gotten over the fries but we had to explain that it was for our toddler and he wasn’t going to eat jalapeños.
