I went in today and bought three pumpkin empanadas. When I took a bite of one, I immediately noticed that the dough was raw inside. I went back in to let the cashier know and asked if I could exchange it for something that was actually cooked. She didn’t seem to understand me at first as she only spoke Spanish, so I tried showing her the raw dough. She ended up calling someone (I assume the manager or owner) and handed me the phone. That person told me I couldn’t get a refund or an exchange because the empanada was broken into it which doesn’t make sense, since I only took one bite to discover the problem, and obviously they can’t resell raw or touched food anyway.
The customer service was poor, and instead of taking responsibility for selling raw food, they refused to make it right. I left very disappointed and want others to know how they run their business. At the end of the day I never got my refund/exchange and left with my raw empanadas…

Amazing people!! For the people of the community this place is a community staple. The way the service is early morning to give you the freshest bread straight from the back kitchen is a one of a kind experience. Their cakes are so delicious!!
I hope after the fire this business has the opportunity to make a comeback. They’re missed dearly and it’s one of those Latino community staples that can’t be replaced.

Their bread is good however not my favorite. I come here mostly for the cakes, their tres leches is so good and super moist. They always seem to mess up the decoration i requested for my cake so make sure you take and leave color,picture, etc examples there. Also make sure the person taking your order rights down every detail so the person decorating knows exactly how you want it. I still go for cakes here even after messing up my decoration because they make good cakes then any other place

If I could give this business more stars, I would. The mexican wedding cookies covered in powered sugar are simply to die for and the ‘best’ I’ve ever had in my long 55 years of life. They are wonderful. I had the Mexican sugar cookies, one pink and one blue as well. Anything you get at this bakery is fresh, great tasting, and will make you crave it all the time after having it. lol.

Not impressed with this place. The empanada dough was more like pie dough, it broke into pieces before we got it home. The other pan dulce we bought here was just so-so. The store itself is clean, but dreary inside. It could use some music and livening up. Still looking for a good panaderia in Yuba City.
