This place has really great pizza that has that authentic oven baked flavor in the crust. Its hard to describe, that crisp and yeasty yet light flavor. I love how the smell fills my car on the way home. The thin crust is crispy and firm under the weight of the toppings which extend almost to the edge with just enough of a crust that you can hold the slice without driving your thumb into the marinara. It also reheats very nicely, which is a necessary qualifier of a good quality pizza. I haven’t been able to order any lately because of a dental issue. The crust is not chewy, but it’s just slightly tough enough and normally that is generally a good thing as long as you have a solid, functioning set of natural teeth. Looking forward to returning, just thinking about the baking pizza smell is making me hungry.

First time eating at Grumpy’s. I was impressed. 6 out of 7 of us really liked our meal. The one that was less impressed didn’t ask the right question about sauce when she ordered her meal. Our server, Lily, was off the chain. She offered to replace the entree with absolutely anything else. Lily also knew the menu extremely well and was very attentive and fun. I had the lasagna; it was very good. The larger portion with a side salad was plenty enough food for two meals for me. I also snagged some key lime pie for the road. It too was very good.

The restaurant was nice enough and was clean, which is hugely important. The real winner for me was the amazing service and the food was good and reasonably priced.

Will be trying the pizza next time. I only wish that restaurants that have the name “pizza” above the door actually offered anchovies as an option. Alas, I am in the minority on this one it seems. =]

Oh man, I’d leave 0 stars if I could. Took a while to be seated. We asked for a large cheese pizza with pepperoni, sausage, onion, and bell pepper. Pizza came out, clearly had no bell pepper or onion toppings (see photo). We notified our waitress thinking it must be an error, but she gaslit us and told us the toppings were included. Wow. Regardless, we started eating. It was very disappointing. Crust was thin but hard like cardboard. Other toppings were just okay.
First time in, and we expected a great mom&pop shop, but these folks were barely phoning it in. Yikes!

Now normally I love their chicken salad but today I tried the pasta chicken salad and I don’t understand who in the world eats hot pasta with cold chicken salad on top probably the absolute worst thing they have on the menu!

Food was excellent, the pizza crust has a good consistency and flavor to it. It was a little hard to get the slices to separate and it was not cut evenly, but if you’re not getting it to share that’s not a huge concern.
The sandwiches are quite good as well, though a little small. The “extra meat” portion is definitely worth it, but my husband was still very hungry after eating his. Service was friendly and the food was hot when they brought it out.
My biggest complaint would be that they kept sitting new customers around us, so if you have social anxiety it may be better to call in an order for pickup.

I have tried Grumpys in the past…lasagna and pizza…was not impressed…today I had the opportunity to try it again. Thankfully, it was at a party and someone else paid because it has not improved. For the life of me cannot figure out what people see in this pizza. I dont mind thin crust, but there is good and bad thin crust. This is bad. Tastes like chewing cardboard, no flavor. Sauce has zero taste. Cheese was weird. Even though it was hot, it was not stretchy or gooey like you expect melted cheese to be. Toppings were sparse…the amount of sausage on a large pizza would probably amount to what a good pizza place puts on a small. Even if the price were the same, I would choose a frozen Red Baron over this. A restaurant that serves a pizza with less toppings than a frozen pizza should be ashamed.

I am so impressed with their salads! I have celiac (can’t eat gluten/wheat/bread products) and their salads have blown me away! No adverse reactions to their food but if you have celiac be sure to stress no crackers with your salad. The image below is a chef salad from them, and their ranch is to die for! Their sweet tea is unique in flavor to other restaurants but still very good! I highly recommend!

Took a long time for the food, when the restaurant wasn’t very busy

Our table was sticking out into the walkway, my companion’s chair kept getting bumped.

Food was bland. “Pasta sauce” tasted like tomato flavored water.

There were maybe 4 employees in the entire place and one of them looked like she was 12.

This is my 2nd time visiting Grumpy’s since moving to Arab. I wasn’t a big fan when we dined the first time. This 2nd time I ordered a large veggie pizza for $25.12. When she handed me the box, it was super light. I got to the car and opened the box to find a paper thin I guess you could call it “pizza”. I went back in for a refund. I think this would be okay if it was made by a little kid and for like $8. But to think of charging $25 and handing me this is nuts.
