I don’t think you come here expecting anything other than what you get. With a name like Grub House and an American diner theme, you’re going to expect a certain level of outrageous and you aren’t going to be let down. The only real question we had going in was.. is the food gonna be good or just big portions and outrageous? I’m pleased to report that the food was pretty darn good and met or exceeded expectations. We tried a few drink options as well, and while none of the 3 was bad, only one I’d order again. We were so stuffed we skipped dessert and that may have been the best decision of our visit! Shout out to our server, who was new, and did an absolute bang up job.

The burger and chips were really good and juicy, well-seasoned, and definitely satisfying. The portion size was great and everything was served fresh and hot.
The only downside was the boneless chicken wings. They were okay, but they tasted more like chicken nuggets than actual wings, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, it’s still a nice spot with good food, and I’d happily go back for the burgers.

What a great restaurant
They have a lot of variety when it comes to food and it’s very reasonably priced.
Quality of the food is just as great
We had one of their baskets which was absolutely amazing.
This place offers great food with a great atmosphere.

Definitely some “old-school” vibes and roadhouse style. Their food is amasing and the portion sizes is quite good. Be careful to order chips as well, it can just be too much.
Definitely worth if trying their supreme burgers and wing special on Wednesdays.

Hey Grubhouse, ordered a burger from you via Uber Eats and what was delivered was certainly substandard! The lettuce was old and limp, most of the onions were not peeled correctly and still had the hard shell on. Very disappointed to say the least. You can and have done better in the past!

Wow what an amazing place to just have a great time, they have great service and good food.
Their menu is amazing with so many choices.
Our waiter Thabo was a superstar and so friendly, thank you Thabo for your great service I love the atmosphere it feels like going back in time and just having a great time!!
The only thing is they had all the chilli sauces you can think of but no Green Tabasco which would have been nice as I can’t eat red chilli and then my food was amazing but my husband’s wrap that he ordered was very dry it would have been great if it just had mayo or any form of sauce as it was a mayo wrap.

Only thing spoiling the tasty fresh dishes is the use of frozen chips. Use fresh cut chips and the food will be a 5 star. And having these frozen chips as an extra cost option at 30% the price of a fantastic burger?

Took my family out for supper. We loved every part of the restaurant; the food is reasonably priced, the atmosphere is pleasant, ranging from young families and couples. The portions are well worth it, and the food is sooo tasty! The kids play area is small, but there’s Put-Put and a play gym. Our waiter was super attentive and accommodating, and the staff is friendly and well mannered. Really can’t find fault with this restaurant.

Wow. An original restaurant, in Pretoria?! In a city where every restaurant’s menu is a copy paste of the next. Grubhouse is original and true to its theme. What a lovely menu that also caters for the true South African with a Shisa Nyama section that will have any true South African braai lover’s mouth watering!! Well done guys. Originality is your superpower!!
