I’m visiting Jacksonville Beach for the first time on a solo trip with my two dogs, and Grouper’s Shack could not have been more welcoming. We sat on the outdoor patio by the bar, where you still get full service, which was perfect with the pups.
Our bartender, Sarah, was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive, friendly, and clearly loves dogs, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. She recommended a couple of cocktails that were amazing, and the food was just as good. I had the fried cod with waffle fries and coleslaw, plus a cup of clam chowder, and everything was delicious.
What really stood out was the vibe. The staff genuinely seemed happy to be there, and that always makes service even better. You can tell this is a place that’s run well and cares about the customer experience.
I’ll definitely be recommending Grouper’s Shack and will absolutely be back next time I’m in town

Great new spot in Jacksonville and a fantastic addition to the local food scene. We tried the fried shrimp and the blackened grouper, and both were super delicious. The shrimp was extremely fresh, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor, and the blackened grouper was spot on.
The lobster bisque was rich, flavorful, and definitely lives up to the hype. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, the service was outstanding, and the overall value for the price is excellent.
Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.

My daughter and I had an absolute blast at this restaurant. The food was simply delicious. I decided to go with the “pick two” option, choosing trigger fish and crab cake. My daughter opted for the kids’ grilled shrimp. Both dishes came with fries and cole slaw (there are other options available). The freshness of the food was evident, and the prices were very reasonable. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean, which made our overall experience even better. We’ll definitely be back in the future!

Great new spot that is super casual and family and dog friendly. Sat at the bar and all the staff were super friendly, and they have cold beer!! Good crowd for their 3rd day open at lunch. Outdoor seating is also great if its a nice day. Will definitely be back

Staff was real friendly. They gave us a quick rundown on the menu. Sit where please.
Food was delivered real fast. Kinda small portions for the buck. Atomosphere was good,nice, clean.
Mind ya it’s near the beach so they gotta WOW YA somehow.
Anyway enjoy your visit if ya happen 2 B hungry !

Stopped in for a quick lunch….sat at the bar and was greeted & served by Brian & Sarah. Started with the Lobster Bisque and a Hazy IPA (draft)….had fun getting to know Brian & Sarah and ended up ordering 1/2lb Peel & Eat Shrimp and another Hazy. Enjoyed my time at Grouper Shack! Definitely plan to return.

It was our first time there midafternoon early dinner. There were a lot of people there. It was hard finding a table if waiting for some people to leave so you can get one if you wanted to eat it indoors some folks were sitting outside it was a little bit cool to sit outside for us. There were three of us in our party. You order food and drinks from the counter and pay. We wrote our orderdown on a piece of paper and one person in our party went to the counter and ordered our food while the other two of us sat at a table we had found. After you order they give you a locator disc. They bring your food table and have a counter where your drinks are self-serve adult beverages you have to pick up yourself from the bar. The atmosphere to me was like fast food. I was disappointed in the fried clams they were luke warm and like rubber, dry and mostly fried breading. My dining partners liked their grilled shrimp which was on a skewer the other person had the blackened mahi sandwich said the Mahi was good but the bun was soggy. Each of our entrees came with waffle fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was good but the waffle fries were lukewarm with no taste. I added ketchup to mine. We had the crab bites as an appetizer there were six little bites in a dish with a creamy hot sauce. Flavor was okay. Overall the prices were in line. A women walked by our table and asked was every thing ok but kept walking before anyone could say anything. We might give them another try but not on a weekend.

The Sheepshead fresh catch sandwich was excellent, and a huge portion at that. Please keep serving waffle fries because they hit the spot
