Grotto is a great Italian restaurant. It has a cozy vibe with beautiful design and decor, lighting. Service is impeccable- our waiter was welcoming, attentive and friendly. The food was flavorful. They have a wonderful menu which included a lunch option and also a Business Lunch which included an appetizer, entree and a dessert. Wow! The chef (s) have pride in their preparation of the foods they present to their customers. This was our first visit and I assure you it won’t be our last,

I have been dining at Grotto since the early 2000 and happy to see that the food and service has been consistently excellent. I don’t find much change since the early days and love some of the dishes I have been enjoying for years. An extra bonus is that many of the servers have been there for 15, 20 and 35 years. It’s consistently good food it’s great professional service and hospitality.

Had a birthday dinner from my brother in law. The Ceasar, the lobster bisque and the bread was really good. Everyone enjoyed all their Italian dishes. The meatballs were a crowd favorite. The mixed beverages were made to my taste. The showered us with a table of delicious desserts.

The most bland food I have ever had, the chicken had no taste, it was 90% bones and the pizza tasted like pure wet bread with tomato sauce and barely any cheese at all, cardboard taste. I’m not sure how there’s so many good reviews about it but it’s horrible, never coming back.

this was our first visit to grotto ristorante and it did not go well. for the positives, the atmosphere was nice. we struggled with the service primarily from not getting the server’s attention much during the dinner. it seemed to take a while after we were seated to get our drink orders. she did not seem engaged in her role and did not even smile once. I would think a simple welcome to the restaurant. I’m happy you’re here or something along that line would be good, but we seem to be more of a bother than anything else. The food was mostly disappointing. the appetizers were okay. the main dishes were not good. of the five of us at the table my wife and I became ill after eating the fish dishes the next day. that was very disappointing especially for the amount of money we spent that night. I will not be returning.

Me and my family love this place! My daughter really loves it and she insists that we give it a 5 start review. Her reasons for loving this restaurant are simple: our waiter, Teodoro, is the best waiter that she has ever had. He is always very attentive and very sweet to us. He is like family❤️ Plus, the food is spectacular!!!! The veal kikerillo is my fav and my daughter loves the homemade butter pasta

After living for 3 years in Houston and trying over 300 restaurants (10-20 of which Italian), I will say that this one is in my top 3 places for casual western food in Houston.
We tried 6 dishes here and everything was absolutely on point and delicious. Highly recommend the shrimp scampi, Mozzarella, Tomato soup and their pasta. The flavors might be a bit american/Italian, but nevertheless tasty.
The prices are super fair. The service is superb. Their bread and premixed dipping oil is world class. They also have happy hour during the week until 7pm, with half price for pizza, small plates and wine/liquors
Parking is NOT just valet, but also self parking, which I love.

Another great restaurant we love to visit. Every time we go, the food is always great, and the service is amazing. The staff is attentive, ensuring we have everything we need without being intrusive. The ambiance makes for a cozy and authentic Italian dining experience, perfect for a relaxed evening. There is only one time we had an issue with them, our card was charged twice as soon as we noticed the charges we contacted the manager and he immediately corrected the issue. It was an honest mistake. Whether we’re in the mood for classic pasta dishes or something a bit more unique, the menu never disappoints. We look forward to every visit!
