Here. We live 45 minutes away. The soup has been very good homemade soup. This time the soup wasn’t as good. There wasn’t much chicken or vegetables in the soup. It was warm not hot. I hope this was a fluke. Because I tell everyone about your soup how good it is. We will try again . Hopefully it’s better next time
I ordered 2 eggs over easy one was over hard, the other was medium.
I ordered my corned beef hash and hash browns extra crispy, they were way undercooked. Maybe it was opposite day….I took it home and cooked it more.
I had an English muffin that was literally swimming in butter or something, I took one bite and almost wore it on my shirt home, it squirt out everywhere! I was done with that.
The wait staff was on top of service, coffee refills, a togo box, the bill etc, however they talked about an older gentleman who just left and always complains. I get that, and if he wanted his fruit in a bowl, make him happy and put it in a bowl! He is a regular. A lot of older people can’t fathom the prices these days and many can’t afford it, however there are great ways to handle a person like that. Im sure he doesn’t tip much and that makes it rough on you as well. We’re all just getting by, you dont need the grief from him, and I don’t need to hear about it while I wait for my husband to eat his skillet, which he said was good by the way.
The bar area was nice enough with an eclectic feel and the bartender poured a delicious Old Fashioned from scratch. The main restaurant has a Perkins feel but the abundant cherry wood provides a surprisingly warm atmosphere.
The staff was friendly but not noteworty and the prices were quite cheap. I will say that the Friday fish was some of the crispiest I’ve ever had (almost like it was coated in kettle chips) and the flavor was ok.
Overall, Izzy’s Pub is a place to go for a good happy hour and predictable food. Go with those expectations and you won’t be disappointed.
