I had the amber beer, and my lady ordered the hazy. Beer was great. Place is wonderful
in good weather. Bartender could use a change of attitude or just learn to be a more welcoming person.

She wasn’t very helpful with suggestions or input on what might be good. We sat at the bar and it felt like that was a bother to her. She really gave us the feeling that we weren’t her kind of customers.
Only had one drink, because why stay where you aren’t welcome?
On the way out we both thanked her and she didn’t reply.

If you take time to read this, maybe consider a different place.

Great place to have a drink, it’s a little small and seating is limited but it’s nice if you can find a seat a table heater. They get busy so another bartender would be helpful.

Such an awesome bar and grill! The Spotted Prawn has a nice selection of food and the drink menu is great!! Loved the atmosphere and it’s a short walk from the cruise ship port. Loved the fireplaces and inclusive vibes.

This is a great open-air bar where you can enjoy a cold beer in a relaxed atmosphere. They do not serve meals or snacks separately, but you can purchase food from the food truck located right next to it. The bartender is friendly and welcoming.

Attractive place right on a Main Street. Great vibe. Offers variety of drinks option. To-go food is available in a truck parked next to this semi-covered bar. On the table top heating is available for seating. Can comfortably seat around 20+ people at a time when shared.

What a FANTASTIC outdoor bar!

We were on an RC cruise and had a couple of hours before having to get back on the Ovation, and the sight of this unique venue drew us in.

Had some great drinks (and shots!) served by a wonderful bartender – I don’t remember her name, but in telling us about her story, she grew up in Juneau, traveled around the country (I do remember her mentioning being in Philadelphia), and then found herself back in Juneau and at the Griz.

Also met some great people at the bar – a family from Maryland who was also on the cruise and a couple from Seattle on vacation – chance meetings that added a memorable flavor to the overall experience of the Griz and Juneau.

Stopping here was definitely a superb way of topping off our day and our experience in Juneau!

Great local liquor served by friendly faces. Good times. The taco truck next door has the best nachos – open @ 11am. So good. Great view of the mountains too.

If I owned a bar, Griz Bar would be it! What an awesome place. View? Spectacular. Open Fire Pits to enjoy the Alaskan Arctic Chill? Spot On. Fantastic Beers On Tap? Check. But, for my money– I am all about two things: Cocktails and Service. Cocktails? Mastered. I enjoyed a bourbon beverage made from Boatwright Bourbon–which is made by hand, right here in southeast Alaska. (Plus, the packaging is super cool!). The entire experience was a love letter from Alaska. The bartender, Dida, was professional, knowledgeable and made me feel at home. I loved it so much that I brought my boyfriend back later in the week–to a repeat of the same stellar service and fantastic hot toddy–thank you Justin!

Additionally, the taco truck next door ROCKS!

Looking forward to visiting this open air bar, when the snow has gone and the sun has come!

I think is the coziest place in Juneau. The tables with fire makes all the difference specially when is end of summer in Alaska. The drinks are very good, fair selection of cocktails and beers and just beside there is a the best taco place in Alaska with vegetarian options.

We spent 3 days in Juneau last week and we liked this place so much we were there every day. Both bartenders — Jessa and Steven — were fantastic, attentive, great conversationalists. The drinks were all local-based and the cocktails were high quality. We didn’t experience the food at the next-door food truck but saw others wolf it down — it looked very good. Great chill vibe, awesome view and a little bit out of the cruise boat zone, so busy but not super-crowded. Mix of locals and visitors. Tell the locals you speak to that you’re not on a cruise — their attitude will be much friendlier. Highly recommend.
