Bela and every single staff member, front and back of house, delivered the service of my dreams. Even though we didn’t have reservations, everyone was so hospitable and we had such a pleasant time that my partner and I nearly spent the entire night there.

Apps were so good we re-ordered, wine list was a treat, dessert (and dessert wine) was mouth watering, service was paced perfectly, and they have the most adorable bear-tender I’ve ever seen

11/10 will absolutely be back; so glad we found this gem ✨

From the hostess to the most to my server, Bela I had an amazing reception felt very welcome given that it was my first time had a wonderful server only to be matched by the food that came in the kitchen. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their job and the presentation. They made sure I knew the ice cream was from another local vendor spotty dog I have given this restaurant five stars in every category. Their menu is small, but everything that I watch come out of the kitchen looked amazing. People were very helpful and genuinely pleased to be doing such high-quality work‼️

Limited menu, but good food. I ordered the steak fries which was $29 on the menu, but was charged $56 because I was offered Denver Cut or New York Strip and chose NW Strip only to latter find out the strip is the “PREMIUM” cut.
Also I made a reservation at least a couple of weeks in advance for a Thursday night and we were offered a small table right in front of the entrance and in the middle of all the foot traffic.

Recently while in the richmond area my partner and I were looking for an incredible local restaurant with impeccable service, superb drinks and a menu to send your tastebuds on a journey – Grisette was found. The mixture of hospitality and ambiance was nothing short of amazing. From the beginning to end the dining experience was excellent. We were greeted immediately (even without a reservation) and seated within minutes. Bela made sure to not only explain the specials but also gave the space for the entire night to feel exceptional. The entire staff was friendly and even as the restaurant was closing we were treated like VIP’s.
This was a 10/10 dining experience and I will definitely be going back

My husband and I went to Grisette for our anniversary dinner. The waitress told us that the only thing they were offering that night for dinner was all you can eat steak frites. She told us that there is a standard cut of the steak, or you can upgrade the cut of meat for an upcharge. There were no physical menus given to us, and no pricing was discussed. My husband and I both ordered the ribeye, thinking that we were ordering the standard cut of steak. When we got our bill we were shocked. The standard price of the steak frites was $75 per person, and the ribeye was an upcharge of an additional $30 per person. The steak frites on their standard dinner menu is $22, how can you charge people more than three times the cost of the standard meal, put an “all you can eat” label on it and not tell people how much this costs? Do you really expect people to eat more than three portions of steak frites? Nor did the waitress clarify or inform us that we were ordering the upcharge cut. We questioned the waitress about the bill, saying we never would have ordered the ribeye if we knew it was the upcharge cut. She said she would talk to her manager about removing the upcharge, but the manager refused. All in all, we ended up spending over $300 with tip for this dinner. This was the most disappointing restaurant experience I’ve ever had, and we will not be returning to Grisette.

My fiance took me here for my birthday and it was amazing. Not only was the food phenomenal, but so was the service. To help celebrate my birthday, we were each given half a glass of wine and a dessert to share.

This restaurant has the food quality and knowledgeable staff of a very high end dining establishment while still feeling laid back and cozy. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Grisette delivered a fantastic meal from top to bottom. Service was bright, sunny, and genuinely welcoming from everyone we met. The setting is lovely: a beautiful spot in Church Hill near Chimborazo Park, right across from Alewife, with the kind of neighborhood charm that makes you want to linger and order another cocktail.

What impressed me most was how precisely the food evoked the French countryside. Every dish felt like something I might order in a small village like Tournon-sur-Rhône: perfectly cooked and unfussy, focused on ingredient quality and balance rather than flourish. The rockfish arrived with a seasonal mix of corn, tomato, okra, and green beans that tasted like summer on a plate. A melon, cucumber, ricotta and berry salad was clean and fragrant. Profiteroles and a peach cake wrapped things up with the right lightness. Even the pork belly dish, which can so easily tip into heaviness elsewhere, was handled with restraint and care.

In many ways this was not only the best French meal I’ve had in Richmond, but an archetypal rustic French meal executed perfectly. Aces all around.

Very well done, overall loved the meal and atmosphere from start to finish. Steak was cooked perfectly, fries excellent. Would’ve liked fresher greens on the salad. I enjoyed the small menu, do what you do, and do it well. Certainly an intimate space, always pairs well with an open kitchen concept. Everything from decor to the vintage plates make you feel right at home in some far away bistro. The Parking will be a bit of a chore as with any place worth its salt, but be a good fellow and get a reservation. Will definitely be back, Grisette. You did not disappoint.

My best friend lives in Richmond and we always go to Grisette at least once a year on New Year’s Eve — and any other time I come to visit. This place is the best vibes; incredible martinis, wine list is insane, and the food can’t be beat. I also just love how they do business; you can tell the staff is legitimately happy working here, which makes it fun to be there 🙂
