My husband and I went for a bite during lunch. We placed our order – the gentleman who took our order was kind and friendly. Our order came out in a decent amount of time, even with people coming in for the lunch hour.
Our food was delicious and we were happy with the portion sizes we ordered (I had the chicken salad wrap with chips and my husband had the chicken salad with strawberry vinaigrette) as compared with the pricing.
The facilities were clean and spacious. Plenty of seats were available for lunch.
Overall a nice spot to grab a bite to eat, whether you’re in a group or just dining with a friend.

What an amazing addition to the Shelbyville square! I waited until my 4th visit to leave a review and I can honestly say my first visit was wonderful and each has only gotten better. The menu has just enough variety for everyone in my circle of friends and few enough options that they pull each one off to perfection. I can’t say enough about the atmosphere; it’s cozy and exciting at the same time. The kind people and country vibe are the combination I enjoy. Real folks and honest respect for patrons. I’m looking forward to the second floor and rooftop experience in the future. I’ll be a regular at Grindstone, say hi when you see me there!

The blend is genius, chuck for that hearty beefiness, short rib for melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, and brisket adding a smoky depth that ties it all together. Topped with melty cheese, crisp lettuce, tangy pickles, and a secret sauce of “I care about my customers” that’s got just the right kick, all on a toasted brioche bun that holds up without getting soggy. I devoured it in minutes, except one bite because man what a great portion. If you’re a burger aficionado, this is your holy grail. 10/10, would drive across town for it again!

Just tried the Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Whey Protein Shake at Grindstone Cowboy and WOW.
This thing is straight-up dangerous in the best way. It’s got that perfect creamy peanut butter punch, real banana sweetness, and rich chocolate flavor that tastes more like a dessert than a protein shake. Somehow it’s thick, smooth, and ridiculously satisfying without feeling heavy.
If you’re lifting, recovering, or just craving something insanely good, this shake hits every note. Honestly might be the best protein shake I’ve had anywhere.
Grindstone Cowboy absolutely nailed this one. I’ll be dreaming about this shake until the next time I’m back.

Finally a good place for breakfast on the square! When other restaurants reduced their portions and quality ingredients, Grindstone Cowboy stepped up and said “Hold my Beer.” I’ve had both breakfast and lunch here and had a generous portion both times. The Rueben is delicious and this breakfast bowl is a value for the price! I quit going to another restaurant when their breakfast bowls started getting smaller and smaller and couldn’t find a good place for breakfast until Grindstone Cowboy opened. I’ve recommended this place to many people since my first time coming. Counter style ordering, quick baristas, and delicious food. Run to Grindstone Cowboy!

Welcome to Shelbyville! Love this restaurant! Clean, great food, wonderful environment and excellent employees. We had the fried bologna, ham and cheese, salted caramel brownie and bacon grilled cheese. All were excellent! Just what Shelbyville needed!
