Love, love, love Grindhouse! I try to come every time I’m in Athens. I’m never disappointed and everything is delicious…even without a bun! The brussel sprouts are stupid good and I’m a brussel sprout snob. I would advise getting a double if you want more protein.

Cool place. Fast food vibe down stairs as you order at the counter and wait to get your food. Upstairs is a bar/ restaurant so maybe a different feel up there. The food was fresh and portions are large. Not the best burger around, but definitely not bad. Give it a try if your in the area.

Not much going on during a warm lazy day in Athens Georgia, so we decided to sop at Grindhouse Killer burgers as we knew they had a welcome pet policy and my staffy Pit bull Yaegar was along for the ride. The only hospitable spot was in the 2 table outside portion of the restaurant, where by the way there is NO service provided. So I go to the downstairs bar and get our beverages and some menu’s go back to our table to get the orders and then walk back to the bartender to make our order and payed. It was quite pleasant with NO-ONE to bother us or our dog. They did actually bring our food. The cook must have had a rough day because he forgot salt and pepper on EVERYTHING, very bland to say the least, ( we did order a NO seasoning burger for Yaegar)I’m sure the Cowboy burger would have been better with a little salt, alas we had NO condiments on the table and I was getting tired of walking back inside

Grindhouse is located on Lumpkin Street north of the intersection of Lumpkin and Millege.
This local chain has an inside counter service main floor, and a full service open air second floor with a bar. We went for lunch and chose the second floor, which turns out to be a little difficult on a windy day. You’ll need to hold onto your napkins. This was our first visit, so we asked what some of the favorites were, and landed on the Dixie and Yankee burgers. All the burgers were perfectly cooked, and both the regular fries and sweet potato fries were just the right amount of crispiness. I don’t think it was hunger talking when I say that all the food was delicious. There was only one server working and she didn’t seem too happy about it, so she didn’t make small talk or had time to be very attentive to us. Nevertheless, we were able to be seated serve served, eat, and pay within an hour. This will definitely be on my list of places to go in the future.
Junior beef Yankee style burger with sweet potato fries and water, Junior beef Yankee style burger with regular fries and a drink, Junior beef Dixie style burger with french fries and a drink; $45.36 before tip.

I sent the sweet potato chips back back because they were floppy and bendable. So sad because the blue cheese dip was large and amazing. I told the cashier the Coke zero was out. Brussel sprouts exactly like I make at home. My kids burger was soooo juicy. I would try more specialty burgers. The fried green tomatoes app was super cheesy. Took a few things home. Nice rainy window for my 1st Athens sitdown. Don’t know what upstairs looked like due to a Minor lol

I thought the burger was good and the fries where cooked good with a light seasoned salt flavor. The bun is a sweet bun, which I like. I also liked the style of the patty. Its the thick kind with a nice sear on the outside. The problem was the size. It was either one or two 1/4 pound patties. I think a 1/3 pound patty would be best. The 1/2 pound is just a little too much and with the 1/4 pound patty they have to make it with a small circumference to get the thickness, hence the smaller bun. All in all the flavors were great and I’ll eat here again for sure.

2 burgers, 1 chicken sandwich ,1 fring (o-rings/fries), 1 soda, 1 shake…. $48!!
You order at counter, take your own food to your table, deliver your trash to bin, and place your tray up yourself…… They still ask for tip at register when ordering.
Food was good, but upcharge for the “frings” is a bit much considering you are getting a regular size fries with 3 o-rings on top.
Place is clean and staff were friendly.

Very average food considering on how expensive it is. The turkey burger was unreasonably small, the fries are definitely those frozen brought fries. Only reason this gets a two star is because of the chocolate shake, which was actually pretty good and creamy.
