GrillMarx Olney Steakhouse & Raw Bar was a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, we were a large party and the reservation was easy to make and there was no issue being seated when we arrived.
The service was good, though I wish some of the soiled plates were removed sooner, but still- they did a good job.
The atmosphere is upscale casual and it was nicely decorated for the holidays.
I got a specialty drink and it was almost undrinkable (too sweet, but I should have realized that based on its description).
The oysters were tasty, but the shrimp cocktail was quite bland. The scallops tasted too fishy.
However, the burrata appetizer was OUTRAGEOUSLY delicious. Based on that alone I cannot drop the food rating below 4 stars.
My prime rib sandwich was tasty, but not spectacular (the bread was too doughy).
My husband’s steak was quite delicious (he was kind enough to let me taste).
I found the dessert to be a disappointment- the cake was very dry.
I would return, but I would definitely not re-order certain dishes.

Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
The vibe was on point the second we walked in—relaxed but classy, not too loud, and just overall a great atmosphere to actually enjoy your food.

I ordered the steak for my main, and it did not disappoint. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor—exactly how a good steak should be. They clearly know what they’re doing back there.

Patrick was our server he was very attentive our table. This restaurant was very romantic and extremely charming. We ordered spinach dip it was so rich and delicious. The chips they serve come warm and thin. Very easy to eat the whole serving. The strip steak was cooked medium very sweet taste. The loaded potatoes were cooked to perfection. My chicken tenders were light and flaky. Will be back again.

Tom, thank you for providing efficient and friendly service. You made the visit wonderful. What to get: Kona Steak (so tender and finished with a sweet smokey glaze), rack of ribs (deliciously prepared and topped with BBQ sauce), the scallops (so tasty and nicely seasoned). I am not impressed with the risotto (way too cheesy – it’s all you can taste). The tuna tower is overloaded with sauce (overpowered the tuna – you miss the actual tuna). Must try: cranberry bread pudding a la mode.

This is the second time we have come here and I have to say that it gets better every time!
Got a reservation for dinner and got seated right away. Had a good-sized drink menu and lots of apps and food to choose from. Bonus points for having multiple items on the kids’ menu as both of mine are picky eaters.
Enjoyed the BBQ ribs and the crab dip. Service was top-notch. Will for sure be back!

I ordered the Breakfast Platter. The eggs and potatoes were barely warm. I asked for them to be reheated. The waiter/ busboy returned a few minutes later with only the eggs reheated. I sent the plate back a second time for the potatoes to be reheated. The meal came with toast, which I never received. No one ever came by to check if everything was ok. My husband had to flag down a busboy/ waiter to get a coffee refill. The waitress who seated us never came back to our table until we were finished eating and ready for our check. She was grudgingly polite, but not at all pleasant.
Overall, the experience was very bad. I will not be returning to GrillMarx.

Come here once every other week. The food is always on point. The drinks are also always on point. Bar is a nice cozy place to enjoy time with friends and family. Richie the bartender always makes an impression with his cocktails and professionalism. Never have to wait for someone to take your order.

We had an amazing experience all around!! We made reservations here for mother’s day and this place did not disappoint in any way. The staff were super friendly and our waiter was attentive without being overly pushy like other places. I loved that you can see into the kitchen while the food is being prepared. Our party tried the blackened shrimp and avocado toast, kona kabob, shrimp and orzo and a steak with a crab cake and grilled shrimps. Everything was phenomenal and cooked to perfection. We also tried the apple crisp and the Grand Marky cocktail, both are worth coming back for.

Update: Our server seemed extremely busy and rushed. It wasn’t the best experience. Also, none of the food is really stand out delicious. Except for the ribs which are always good. The steaks are cooked well and were tasty.
