In 2013, Fidel and Aida decided to venture out on their own. They opened their little Tex-Mex Restaurant serving the North Austin Communities of Wells Branch and Pflugerville. We loved the food! As others have mentioned, the creamy jalapeno dip is something unusual, and it’s unusually good! My wife had the Ramos Family Starter (an appetizer as her meal), enjoyed it, and it was more than she could eat. I had Combination #3 – 3 different enchiladas, rice, and beans. Loved it! We’ve always noticed that service at most restaurants tends to be more dicey the less busy a place is, and this visit was no exception. Almost nobody there, and after waiting a while I had to go find someone to bring us a check. Not a big deal; in fact I guarantee we’ll be back at the next opportunity.

This is a jewel in the rough. I am so so glad we stumbled upon this amazing establishment while we were out running errands. The creamy jalapeno dip that comes for free with chips and salsa is addictive. I poured this stuff on my entree too. The fajitas were just as good (maybe slightly better) than Lupe’s. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The pico was super fresh and nothing was wilted. The beef enchiladas were delicious. I want to go back and try all the different enchiladas. The only minor miss was the rice that comes with the entrees. It was quite dry but flavor was good.

I will be returning soon regardless of how far the drive is!!

Our first time to try the Grill on Tex Mex and we found it excellent. It is a hidden away gem of a place. There were 5 of us and we had the chicken fajitas and 2 orders of the # 5 cheese enchilada and taco. My wife had a Mexican Martini which she raved about. Iced tea was perfect and the waitress kept me filled up the whole time we were there. Loved their salsa but have to say the queso was just so-so. Tasted like warmed up velveeta to me. We will definitely be back. Huge menu with many more things I want to try.

I’ve been wanting to try this place. I know it was a Chinese restaurant before because I used to eat there. The new owners have the place very clean well decorated. I wanted to try their cheeseburger because it seemed unusual to have that on the menu. I hate to review anything bad but that burger was bad. Like a cornerstore processed meat. My wife had the chicken Tortilla Soup. Lots of chicken in it, but damn I think the salt shaker fell in the bowl. Really Salty. She liked her pancake. Chips and salsa were good. I don’t think I’ll give up on this place. I think next time I’ll try the fajitas or shrimp tacos. The menu has a good selection. The unsweetened tea was awesome. Our server was really really great. The atmosphere was relaxing. Maybe I’ll try again next week.

If you are in the Lakeway area and are a Tex-Mex fan, you need to check this place out. The food is always great, wonderful drinks lots of seating and large bar with lots of TVds, that they leave the remotes for.
The staff and service is fantastic… And they have jalapeño ranch and a salsa that will remind you of an Austin mainstay, but better!

You are here for the food 100%! If you liked old school tex mex like Chuy’s original menu. Before they made it big and changed the food. This place uses real cheese and the sauces are so good, hatch, verde, tex mex. The enchiladas and chili rejeino’s are so good. Beans, rice, salsa really good. Worth checking out.

I have been to Grill On, for lunch, many times. Each experience was wonderful!
The food is always fresh and delicious. I love the chicken enchiladas!
In addition, the Grill On staff, especially Ney, is efficient and friendly. The dining room is also very clean.
