I typically go to Chipotle before going to the gym located on the mall property, but today I decided to try something different. I went to Grill Kabob and ordered the Chicken Kabob with double chicken. I paid and sat down for a few minutes while they prep my food.

Meanwhile, I noticed several customers lingering around waiting for their food and nothing was coming out. I noticed the employees, all females laughing, joking and taking pics of the meat on the grill as it cooked.

After 20 min I walked up and the cashier remembered me and started to prep my to-go plate. I reminded her I only wanted a little bit of rice but with more chickpeas. As she poured a white sauce over the rice, she asked me how much i wanted so I told her a little bit and as she poured it I stopped her once I saw it was good. Well, she put that plate aside and a minute later she puts beef kabob and gives it to another guest who was waiting on their order. She made 3 more to-go plates and tells the lady cooking the meats that she needs a double chicken order, but more meats kept coming out and going to other customers.

Meanwhile, someone spoke in Spanish and says to the other workers about me “he looks upset because he’s been waiting too long”… so after another 5 min of waiting I had enough of the restaurants inability to quickly make food and deliver it in a timely manner. In a FOOD COURT!!

I walked up to the cashier in a visibly upset manner and requested a refund, she knew by my face that I was unhappy in how slow their service was. She apologized and understood.

The initial cashier who was now trying to help prep plates said in Spanish to the other cashier that his food was coming and to not give me a refund, I told them that I’ve waited enough and to give me my money back. One of the other cashiers said in Spanish out loud several times that “he’s right, he’s been waiting too long and his food is still not done yet”..

The employees went back and forth in not wanting to give me a refund but I stuck to my guns and eventually received my refund receipt. I told them it was unacceptable for a customer to be waiting for 25-30 min for chicken kabobs that are on an open flame, they only needed several minutes to ensure it’s fully cooked but they couldn’t understand basic food prep and a lack of customer service. I also told them how they’re all joking, laughing, taking pictures of the food and not actually working.

If you want a group of untrained employees who can’t tell when a slender piece of chicken is done while it’s fully on an open flame and the rest of the food is already prepared then come here and get some crappy service. All these employees need to be retrained. I don’t know how good or bad the food is as I didn’t have it. I do not recommend this place.

I left here and walked 10 feet to Chipotle and got me a quick meal.

I’ve been coming here since 1999, and I must say, this place serves the best Kabob I’ve ever eaten. The food is delicious, and the sauces truly elevate the dish. The service is phenomenal, and they cook the food fresh on the spot. If you’re in the mood for a great Kabob meal and find yourself at Springfield Mall, you must try this place. I highly recommend the chicken—it’s amazing.

Workers wouldn’t wear gloves, didn’t wash their hands, watched them touch their phone and face and then handle food. One lady had black dirt/debris in her nails. We asked them to cancel the order and get a refund but they refused. We’re out $20 with no food or refund now. We’ll never go back here and will make sure to tell everyone else how terrible this was.

We used to love grill kabob, but it’s really gone downhill. Such a shame.

I use to go to this place with my family, the food has always been very good but unfortunately the staff at this Springfield location is just terrible they are always rude and standing around talking amongst each other. After my last visit Feb 5,2026 at approximately 8:33 pm there were three customers who wanted to order food but were told they close at 8:30. You should fix the hours of operation online since it says 9pm and the same 2 ladies that are always there spoke to everyone very rude. My husband has also encountered the same experience with the same employees and because of this we will not be back. I called today Feb 6, 2026 and the same lady answered and hung up twice this is very unprofessional. Please train your staff to do better. You will lose customers with this kind of service.

Halal so mid that I had to make my first Google review. Coming from NYC, 5$ gets me great halal/kabab. Here, in middle of nowhere VA, 16$ gets you dry chicken and rice with no flavor. I’m devastated.

The persons working here take too long waited 30 minutes for a giro sandwich with only about 4 orders ahead of mine.
Aside from that the person making my order using a her phone while making my sandwich touching her phone with the same gloves she is making the food. And when asked to please give me a new one because is unsanitary the employee gets mad and gave me attitude….. this restaurant’s are now expensive and also nasty with the tipe of employees they now have. I’m ashamed the say I used to work in one of this places….

It was delicious and I would come back and eat again. I had steak and chicken salad with the fresh made bread and my man had the chicken kabobs. And surprisingly their chick peas with the gravy was sooooo good. I could eat it alone.

My daughter ordered from UBER EATS and not only the food was terrible, but the service (it arrived late) as well. This place is so overpriced! $17.99 for the koobideh and it’s burnt! To top it all, they also forgot the soda?! The bread is also old, disgusting place!

One of the best kabob spots I’ve been to in VA. The chicken kabob is a must and so is the lamb kabob. The baklava was okay 5/10 next time you’re inside Springfield Mall try it.

DMV people are picky critics, lol. I moved to Pennsylvania where all the people give 5 stars for truly subpar food. Anyways, in Harrisburg there are no kabob places with big chunks of meat. They’re usually ground meat that’s rolled into long pieces.

Ive been coming to this kabob place for 20 years since before mall was renovated. When we come to visit my mom in Alexandria, we ALWAYS stop by here to eat or bring home a platter to Pennsylvania. Meat is moist. Rice and bread good. Kabob Palace in Crystal City one of my other favorites , but it’s far from my parents so we go to the mall. I also love the Afghan spinach. That in itself with rice is a meal.
