This guys have a terrible service – they took 55 minutes to realize our order status and finally said they have a “problèm informatique”. Average tasty food.

An unfortunate addition to a historic monument which itself displays perfection, not a word i would attribute to this restaurant offering. UPF’s red hot tin opener, over priced, a throughly unpleasant experience. The food offering at Chambord needs to go an look at what Villandry is offering the customer both in terms of quality and price.
In addition the service was awful, salad tipped over one customer, staff tripping up stairs, looked more like a circus than a restaurant.
Don’t go to the loo use the forest it’s cleaner.

Even given the touristic location, price was a bit exaggerated. Service was very good. Sausage was good, other dishes were ok, but the onion soup was disgusting. It was inedible. Other comments here come to this same conclusion.
Once we went to pay, and were at the cashier, we complained about the soup, and were awarded 20% off on the soup. An absolute joke. Any decent restaurant would not charge the soup at all.
I would avoid this restaurant, and if needed choose one of the neighboring ones. Maybe they will be less of a tourist trap…

Drove for 5 hours from Paris and return to the Chateau Chambord and thought we would grab some lunch before heading in to the Chateau and could not believe how bad the service, attitude and professionalism was from all the staff.
Very nearly ruined our whole day.
Rude, abrupt, disinterested and dismissive. Food very ordinary and grossly overpriced.
Do yourself a huge favour and dont risk spoiling your day at what is otherwise and astonishingly fantastic place.
Eat anywhere other than here.

On our way to the chateaux we decided to have lunch on location. We were lucky enough to find a spot on the terrace in the shade. We ordered 2 types of salads, and the croque monsieur. The food took its time coming and service was basically non existent because it was a packed day. So expect 2hrs for lunch. But the food was fine.
