Tucked in the heart of Brea’s Birch Street Promenade, **Griffin’s** feels like your quintessential **neighborhood restaurant**—the kind of place where locals pop in for a relaxed meal without the fuss ️ ️. The **location felt like I was in LA**: urban stroll vibes with nearby shops, outdoor seating under string lights, and that easygoing SoCal energy. It’s **casual dining** at its best—jeans and T-shirt friendly, with a menu of American classics like burgers, salads, and pasta served in a cozy, brick-walled space that buzzes with conversation.
**Service was friendly**—waitstaff greeted us warmly, took orders efficiently, and kept waters refilled without hovering. The **convenient location** is a huge plus: walking distance from the Improv or movies, with validated parking in the nearby garage making it hassle-free for a quick dinner.
Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and Caesar salad—both arrived promptly and looked appetizing. Portions were generous, and the flavors were solid comfort food: fresh greens, tender chicken, and a decent house dressing.
That said, deductions bring it down a notch. The **food was average**—tasty but nothing memorable, lacking that wow factor in seasoning or presentation. **Parking** can be tricky on busy nights (the garage fills up fast), and overall, **nothing stood out** to make it a standout in Orange County’s crowded dining scene—it’s reliable, but not destination-worthy.
Still, Griffin’s earns a strong 4.5 for being a welcoming neighborhood spot with casual LA charm and convenience. It’s the perfect low-key hang when you’re in Brea and want something familiar. I’ll be back for a casual bite, but won’t rush over from afar.
We at the burrata, patatas bravas, shrimp tacos (our ultimate favorite) and lastly the meatballs (beef and pork). The sauces were excellent on all the foods and the shrimp tacos were the best I’ve ever had. I am not easy to impress, so when I give 5-stars, it’s serious.
I ordered the Cats Meowtside cocktail and it was excellent!
We will be going back for our 15 year anniversary next month and we hope to try a desert.
We sat inside and not on the patio. We parked across the street in the free parking structure.
Thanks for a genuine experience Mr. Griffin!
Our server Sarah was very knowledgeable and happy to walk us through the menu and the entire staff was great. 100% will be back.
