Griffin Irish Pub opened in 1999 and is located in the heart of downtown Battle Creek. Since then, owner Paul Conkey has been serving both quality interpretations of classic dishes and daring new ventures into the uncharted territories of food.
Griffin Pub’s interior, designed by owner Kathy Schramm, reflects the hip sensibilities of the surrounding area while also paying tribute to Ireland’s storied past. The single level restaurant offers the choice to observe passers-by at the front of the restaurant, you can sit out on the patio during the warmer season, or watch the art of cooking as it unfolds in the open-kitchen. The Griffin has multiple HDTV’s throughout the restaurant showing the top sporting events of the day.
Classic tavern offering Irish-American plates & many beers on tap, plus TV sports & a chill patio.

It sits right downtown with other eateries and bars. The entrance has a menu on the outside for your review but I would recommend to just go inside and try it out. The place is split into a bar only section and two long narrow sit down sections. It has both bench and table type seating. You will be close to others as the seating is close to one another.
The servers were all wonderful! They made you feel right at home and welcome. The drinks never went empty and the amount of times we were checked on was perfect.
The food was amazing! We had their bourbon signature burger and their wings&drummies appetizers. All burgers come on a pretzel bun, which I don’t normally like but this one was delicious. The burger was full of flavor with a slight sweetness from the sauce. I would definitely get it again! The wings were delicious as well with 8 being more than enough to fill you.
We will definitely stop back in the next time we are looking for a good place to eat and have a drink.

Clean, friendly and just in general a great environment! Service was slow but it was a Friday around 5 and they were busy so I tried not to judge to hard on that. Food was just ok nothing to get excited about. My family got spicy shrimp Alfredo, cheeseburger, BBQ wings, and the Mac and cheese dish out of all that the wings were the majority favorite. Fries totally sucked. I know people that really like this place but me and my family probably won’t go back and I probably wouldn’t recommend it to people either for dinner. I think it would be a great meet up for some drinks type of spot!

So, I really had high hopes.
4.2☆ Rueben Egg Rolls were on point.
3.5☆ Fried Cod – Way too thick of batter and it was sweet, like the county fair corn dog, but the fish inside was ok.
4.5☆ Rodeo burger. The burger was great as a package, but the patty needed to be reminded of seasoning.
Overall, key takeaway was that everything needed seasoning.
I’ll try another place next time I’m in town, but if I needed a regular joint, this might do alright.

This Irish Pub was an amazing place to go for dinner! They have an excellent menu (both drinks and food) with a good amount of choices overall. The atmosphere was as if you just walked into a pub in Ireland . My wife and I were immediately greeted by the bartender and a waitress and told we were able to sit wherever we like and we choose a both (limited, so get there early if you like booths). We went with the Reuben egg rolls to start and they were filled with meat and cheese. For our entrée (we split it), we went with a classic, Bangers and Mash, and we were not disappointed at all. We also got a few wings, as it was $.75 wing night and those were great too. For our drinks we started out with some thin mint shots and they tasted exactly like an Andes mint chocolate or a York Peppermint Patty, nice and refreshing. Their Christmas ale was slightly dark, not too heavy, and very flavorful. Our waitress was extremely friendly, very attentive, and very responsive (sorry,I don’t remember her name, but she had tan skin and dark hair pulled back) I highly recommend Griffin’s Irish Pub if you are in the area or even just visiting.

I will not ever return to this rude place, horrible service and even worse Bartendar. I guess you arent allowed to order fries before a drink even tho they were on the same order. This bar must want you to drink and not eat, then drive. I was gonna order a double Jack & Coke and Angry fries. So I asked for the Angry Fries first and the bartendar rudely interrupted me and said “whoa, whoa, wait” ” do you have a tab? I replied “no, not yet” he then asked are you drinking ” I said , yes” he said then “we need to start with your drink order”. Why?!?! As a customer, I should be able to ask for my order in any way I wanna give it, why did it matter that I didn’t start with the drink order? He was so rude I walked away and I had 2 family members behind me waiting to order as well so they heard it all. They even sent out sprites that were gross and had to change the bag before getting new ones. Just horrible service. Pizza looks like Frozen Digorno Pizza. I refused to give them a dime of my money due to the way I was treated at the bar, my family did order. Not worth it in my opinion.

Came here with my wife and family last Friday. I had been here previously but it was years ago, but I remembered the fish tacos being good. This time I got something different. My wife and I got the Scotch Eggs as our appetizer and I got the brisket burnt ends. The Scotch Eggs were amazing, they blew away the ones I had previously at a restaurant in Marcellus! The Brisket burnt ends were good too, as was the mac and cheese that came with it. The cole slaw was a bit marginal unfortunately. Otherwise, I’d give it a five, because everything else was surprisingly good and for a decent price

It’s not that hard to make a burger, like really not that hard. But once I took a bite, the taste of the bread was really weird, after smelling it; it’s definitely off. Throwing it away as I wrote this. Plus, I said no tomatoes…The bread is definitely expired.

Just had an amazing experience at Griffin Grill & Pub in Battle Creek, Michigan. I ordered the Cajun Alfredo, and let me tell you—it was absolutely incredible. Perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of kick, rich and creamy, and packed with flavor. The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and fast. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had that classic pub charm that makes you want to stick around for a while. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back!

A very nice looking place for a fun taste of Irish American food! Coming from almost 2 hours away to try this place for our day in battle creek!
So glad to see a mock tail menu, as the DD I like to have a tasty drink too while at a bar / pub. Got the redbull sunrise!
Scotch egg was delicious, the honey mustard went so well with it.
I had the bangers and mash, which my potatos were just Luke warm. Unsure if it was because of the plate being cold, or they were just not warmed enough. Delicious either way. The sausages were tasty with the tiny hint of cinnamon.
Chips were thick and freshly made! And the steak in the Philly cheese was so tender. Loved it!
My brother had the burger that had peanut butter. A bit odd but a had to try meal.
Definitely showing this place to others if we ever go back!

Stopped in for lunch, went right to a table, I got the lunch special cheeseburger on a gluten free bun with vegetables, and let me tell you, it was delicious. Most places give you the same sort of steamed bland California medley- this was a grilled veggie mix that was tasty, hit the spot. Perfect amount for lunch, not too much, not too little, although, I probably could’ve eaten another burger, but I definitely didn’t have to.
