recently visited Gregg’s Restaurants in Warwick and had such a great experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was attentive and friendly.
I had the salmon dinner and it was exceptional — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Of course, you can’t leave without dessert! Their cakes are always a highlight and never disappoint.
It’s the perfect spot whether you’re meeting friends for lunch, enjoying a family dinner, or just stopping in for coffee and a slice of cake.

I have been coming here for over 20 years for the desserts alone, specifically the Death by Chocolate cake. It has been my own personal favorite and best chocolate cake I have ever had. Obviously loaded with chocolate from chips to frosting and absolutely soft and moist throughout. Used to be able to get thru a slice in a sitting, but so rich that it’s worth savoring over a couple of sittings…. To be fair, there is a complete menu full of different pies, cakes and pastries to try and sample with your dinner. Or you can go specifically to satisfy your sweet tooth at their dedicated dessert checkout in person or place an online pickup order. I walked in and was waited on within a min or 2 and checked out within 5 minutes. Online orders were just as an ease and quick.

Where do I start? Went here on 10/18; we were a party of 4. I ordered The Nutty Irishman Coffee, which is supposed to have Frangelico, Baileys, whipped cream, a cherry, and a cinnamon stick. I received a cup of coffee and asked for at least the whipped cream to be added. Couldn’t taste any alcohol in it, except a hint of Irish cream. We told the waitress that it doesn’t appear to have Frangelico in it. She went to talk to the bartender and came back with a shot of Irish cream. I again explained about the Frangelico being the missing ingredient. She then came back with the full bottle of Irish cream to show me what type of shot she brought me; the brand was McCormick. (Imitation Baileys is not what was advertised and technically its illegal to serve when the menu states otherwise). This was a $13 dollar coffee, made with bottom shelf alcohol. I explained yet again, that Frangelico was the alcohol that appeared to be absent from the coffee. I couldn’t comprehend how my point wasn’t being comprehended. Anyhow, she left and the bartender came over to say that both alcohols were in the coffee, but offered to make another one. I declined as this turned into a such a big ordeal that I wasn’t looking for, and it didn’t need to be that way. Now onto the apps. The other people in my party, ordered buffalo chicken strips. The were overcooked and difficult to cut. You could tell these were frozen and not freshly made. My husband and I ordered nachos, They were the most tasteless nachos we have ever had. There was a little cheese, and some olives, some chopped onions, tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream. Not a hint of meat and sooo bland and they cost $15 dollars! We got the check after this ordeal and went to a real restaurant for entrees. We will never return to Greggs; such an awful experience.

Super sweet staff. Amazing price and portions. Went for lunch and enjoyed it so so much.
The servers and hostess were very friendly and kind, for example they asked if i needed the window curtain closed so the sun did not hit my eyes.
Food: I had fish (cod) and chips, it was crunchy nicely seasoned with fresh french fries and great slaw. My friend had a burger, it was very good but I like Harry’s burgers better.
Dessert: ok so this is just the absolute best cake I’ve ever tasted in my life. Chocolate layered cake, IT IS AMAZING. I think I’ll just come here for that piece of cake.
Thanks for an amazing service no wonder they’re always packed …

Gregg’s opened in 1972 and is known for their cakes for a reason; they are super decadent, moist, and scrumptious. There are four locations; in Providence, Warwick, East Providence, and a North Kingstown. It is a Rhode Island tradition! This one has spacious parking and the customer service was great.
We were seated right away and the food came out quick. Their menu was huge and they have a to-go section where you can also order ahead by calling or going on their website to order. We started off with crab cakes as an appetizer; two crab cakes were drizzled with Chipotle aioli which were good. I had the margarita which was large and decently priced; it was 3.5 out of 5 stars. I ordered the chicken salad club with fries, these were delicious. Of course, I had to get the chocolate cake dessert and it was amazing. Overall, we had a great meal and enjoyed dining in this family friendly and affordable restaurant.

So normally I love Gregg’s, been eating here for years. I noticed the quality has gone down, the portions have decreased and the prices have increased so I’ve stayed away. But my son and I got dessert to go on July 4th and after eating most of the death by chocolate cake I saw this bug in the frosting and also this long plastic thing in there. Pictures included. Idk what kind of bug this is but it’s still alive and it was in between the chocolate chips and frosting and I’m just grateful I saw it before I ate it or anyone else did. Disappointing experience and I won’t go back now I’m nervous about more bugs

My son gave the chicken fingers a 5 and the fries an 8… that said. Service was slow, the place smelled like cheap cleaning products or urinal cakes… not sure which. Food was bland. Cole slaw was awesome.

I’ve been to plenty of different diner style restaurants but have to say the menu here and the prices are well worth every bit. The portion sizes are huge and the speed of the food coming out was great!

It was a bit pricey for what we got. Food didn’t really have much flavor to it. It was OKAY, but I don’t see myself going back. My husband got a lobster grilled cheese and it was good! It took about 15 minutes just to get a drink, but the cheesecake was great.

Delicious food, kind and friendly staff, decent portions. Loved it. Can’t wait to try more of their menu items. Salad was yummy, BUT my chicken was overcooked and very dry.
