I recall this brewery being better in the past. The beer was mediocre, at best. While no defects were tasted, they were poor to style and boring. The food was even worse. The cheeseburger was way overcooked and bland. The lettuce in the salad was old w brown edges. The server was young and didn’t know the beers well, which were overpriced. I still planned on tipping 20%, but 20% was not one of the standard tips on their credit card machine – it stated at 22% and went up. I had to weave my way through the menus and calculate 20% and hand edit it. I will not return to this brewery. Sadly, there are too many breweries in Michigan that have become crappy.

This place was a pleasant surprise!! The bartender was knowledgeable on the beers! Our food came out super fast and was delicious! I had the pulled pork sandwich with beet and quinoa salad and it was amazing! My husband had the chicken sandwich and loved it. On a scale of 1-10, the beer would get a 9. We will definitely go back when we drive through again!

I walked in and sat down as they said to sit anywhere, the waitress that was in her mid 40’s came over and very rude and loudly told us “you need to move in case we get a bigger table.” This was right after another group of 2 just told us they were sitting there and it gets warm. We got up and moved and she threw our menus on the table and walked away. We got a different waitress (just by coincidence) and I ordered the Italian sub, which is not toasted as it was described. I asked if we could get it toasted and they told us no because it was already at the table. My partner ordered a side of Mac and cheese, which was cold but we didn’t say anything at this point. On top of the fact that once the food was at our table, we had fruit flies surrounding us and ants on the table (it is March so not even summer time). Then we overheard the original waitress talking badly about us about 5 feet from us (after we still tipped 20% because there was no other option). The only decent experience about this place was our new waitress was friendly. We are from a few hours away and will remember to avoid this place when traveling again. Waste of $50 and we ended up at Taco Bell down the street.

The smoked BBQ meats were excellent as well as shrimp and grits. Pretzel and pub cheese also great. Excellent service and most of the beers we tried were pretty good. The prices were also fair for everything. One of the best brewery places in area and worth the drive.

The loaded tots (sort of a riff on poutine) and pulled pork were tasty. The vibe of the bar was enjoyable as well. Unfortunately, both me and my partner got food poisoning here after sharing our meal. This glaring issue aside, it was a positive experience, but I can’t recommend it for health/safety reasons.

The best smoked brisket in the state is found on the border. Better than any others found in/around Detroit. It’s a must-stop on your way to or from Chicago. For beers, can’t go wrong with the Distorter Porter and for your side, go with the cucumber salad.

Very solid brewery. Had a pint of hard cider and ordered the fried chicken sandwich with potato salad. I have to say, the cider was very smooth and light. It gave me a nice feeling when drinking that would make me want to get more. The chicken sandwich was also really good. It was a bit on the drier side which is why I can’t give it 5 stars however other than that it was very flavorful. The crust was good and packed with flavor and the combination of the fresh ingredients as well as SWEET pickle slices made for an amazing combo. Will definitely be coming back.

The appetizers was a great start. Wings are a must get if you like wings. The loaded tots had so much flavor, but they could be a meal on there own. I got grits and shrimp and they didn’t disappoint at all. Flavor and texture was amazing. My lady and nephews lady got bacon mac & cheese and they said it was on point. My nephew got the brisket Mac & cheese, the amount of brisket was a generous amount. Food was worth every penny and we will be back.

I’ve always been a fan of green bush, but grabbing lunch there this week was such a great experience. Good service, excellent food, and fantastic beer. I had the GBC Bowl for the first time and thought it was delicious. I also tried their 1825 for the first time… best beer of theirs that I’ve tried. My wife highly recommends the garlic cheese grits as well. Great in public experience. Check it out!
