Great food. Great BBQ atmosphere. Friendly service.
The brisket alone is worth the trip.

⭐ Long Review
My wife and I went this past Sunday for lunch. We had been to Green River BBQ years ago, but since they’ve changed ownership, it felt like it was time to try it again.
We were greeted with smiles, seated quickly, and taken care of by Jacob, who did a great job walking us through some of his favorites on the menu. Always appreciate a server who actually knows the food.
We decided to try his favorite appetizer — Fried Green Tomatoes. Now, in the South, those can be hit or miss depending on the batter and the fryer. These? Not even in the same category. Think filet mignon compared to a bargain-bin steak.
They came stacked on a bed of lettuce with chow chow and a sauce on top, and they were SO good. Definitely ordering those again… which is dangerous, because the entire starter menu looked fantastic. Pork rinds. Homemade chips. BBQ chips loaded with everything. I wanted to try it all.
For our entree, We landed on the sampler plate — three meats, three sides: BBQ, brisket, and ribs.
If I’m being honest, the pulled pork was good… but the brisket? Oh my. Perfectly cooked, seasoned just right, beautiful char on the edges, a proper fat cap, and not dry at all. I would absolutely order the brisket as a full meal next time.
The ribs were perfectly sauced and fell right off the bone. Once again — nailed it. Portions were generous across the board. I always glance at other tables when plates come out, and everything I saw looked well-portioned and legit.
For sides, we chose onion straws (crispy and solid), sweet potato fries (fantastic), and mac and cheese (good). Next time I’ll probably switch it up just to explore more of the menu.
Jacob offered dessert, but we were dangerously close to food coma territory. We passed — reluctantly. They all sounded great, so I’ll have to save room next time.
Sauces were very good. The mustard base was our favorite. I also asked for the vinegar-based sauce (not on the table), and it paired really well with the brisket. They also have a “Volcano” sauce — vinegar-based with habanero. Great flavor, but a little hotter than my taste buds prefer.
They have Coke products which is my fav. My wife LOVED the sweet tea, said it’s the best she has had a restaurant in a while.
Restrooms were clean (two single stalls).
On the way out, I noticed weekday lunch specials with a different entrée each day. Now I want to go back for lunch during the week — the only challenge will be returning to work after a meal like that.
The place itself has that classic BBQ feel when you walk in. It just feels right.

Our server, Joey, told us that they just reopened the place a few weeks ago.
He was great!
Food tasted very good, me and my wife shared the 3 meat sampler and it was more than enough.
My only complaint is the food wasn’t hot upon arrival.
We picked it up for a family function and we’re blown away by the attention to detail in everything we tried.
The flavors and appropriate amount of smoke are impressive to say the least. Sauces complimented the pulled pork and pulled chicken without overpowering the balance of sweet, savory and salty.
I can’t stop thinking about it and look forward to supporting the hard work and effort they put into delivering such a phenomenal product.
