Every time our travels take us even CLOSE to Elizabethtown, a visit to Green Bamboo is a must! Everything is so fresh, delicious and original… and our server, Hong is always very helpful with recommendations for trying new things. The hot & sour soup is the best I’ve had, and the portions are very generous. Highly recommended!

Sadly they do not have family meal option on the menu any more but our most recent Meal was excellent we enjoyed the Mongolian beef meal and the Mandarin Chicken meal with fried rice. Service and food were excellent
We ordered the family dinner . Picked 2 entrees….Mongolian beef spicey, sesame chicken spicy. The meal was served with Soup, Egg Roll, 4 chicken wings and fried rice. Every thing was excellent . Our bill totaled $35 with tip. Great food and service but a little pricey.

We came in for hot and sour soup only, we left with hot and sour soup to go.. after eating the delicious spicy chicken and general chicken! I would highly recommend! Our server was a friendly man, and he suggested the spicy chicken to me personally. He said it was one of his favorites, and after I tried it I could easily see why! They hit a home run with this one! Way to go, compliments to the chefs!

From someone who NEVER leaves a review:
My Family and I finally had an opportunity to visit Green Bamboo for the first time yesterday. After waiting , we were finally seated and were given our drinks. Then, no one ever came back to wait on us. Customers were seated after us and orders were taken. I tried getting the attention of one of the servers and after looking at me she turned her head and then never acknowledged our table again. We sat there waiting for someone to return for 20 plus minutes. We finally got up and left.
We have never had this sort of service anywhere and were so disappointed as we drove from out of town and were so looking forward to eating at this highly recommended restaurant.

This restaurant has been in business for over 40 years, and continues to be one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever eaten at!
It’s been the better part of 20 years since I last dined here, but the food is still every bit as tasty and well-prepared as it has ever been.
Portions are very generous, especially when you take pricing into account. The staff, as always, are attentive and timely.
This is the place to go!

Food/Taste/Flavor: 2/5 – Pork Lo Mein and Assorted Fried Rice. The salt level is unbearable! Both dishes looked and smelled so good but when we actually started eating it, it was insanely salty. The pork in the lo mein was covered in a corn starch and fried but got really soggy because of the noodles. The rice was soy sauce soaked and then salt was added to it so we couldn’t finish the dish based on taste.
Service: 4/5 – the lady was insistent that we wanted lo mein and not chow mein and we just gave in and got the lo mein.
Ambiance: n/a – ordered food to go.
Value for price: 3/5 – the serving size was decent but it was so salty we couldn’t really enjoy the food.

A group of friends and I went here for dinner and it was by far the best Chinese restaurant we have been to. Our waitress, Wong was incredibly helpful with recommendations and the service was incredibly quick. From the time we ordered to the time we received our food it was no more than 2-3 minutes. For two of us we spent about $30-36, so that’s about $15-18 per person and we left full and content with the value of the food. I would recommended this restaurant to anyone looking for more authentic Chinese food experience compared to your typical run of the mill buffet Chinese restaurants.

Man that was taking orders and money didn’t have a clue. And charged me 26.00 for an entree that was supposed to be 14.00 then argued that I was wrong and then after I showed him on menu the price. He changed it to another entee but ended up not getting what I paid for. So went in and for literally almost 10 minutes of trying to speak and show him the menu AGAIN! I finally said No you need to stop talking while I’m explaining and showing you the menu. He then got all mad, and went back there to get my egg roll and wings that come with the entee advertised in the menu. While waiting for my items , two girls come in and order. The same thing happened to them he charged her 26.00 for chicken fried rice and supposedly a egg roll and small soup . and I’m not exaggerating. She started asking him why 26.00 and like he did me , started talking non english acting as it was right. Then I stood up and said , look he did same thing and exactly same price for my entee that clearly showed 14.00 . Then lady came out handed me 2 small bags and when I got on car and drive off, my wings weren’t in bag. So I still didn’t get my full meal. She put sauce and plastic ware in other bag. Threw me off. Grrrr. Won’t be back, plus the beef wasn’t the same as before. Rubbery and just not like when I went there few months back. Sorry if my penmanship is bad. Sigh

Green Bamboo is a great, one of the best, Chinese restaurants in the local area. The setting is nice, with great service, and wonderful selection of menu items. Depending on the time/day you go, you can choose to order off the menu or buffet. Their prices are very reasonable and the serving portions are good. They’ve been in business for quite a while for a reason. My first time there was in the 80’s and the food is still great!
