Sadly, I was not impressed. While everything looked nice, the taste did not live up to the hype or price. Drinks were slow to come out, as well as entrees. We were told by our server once for a bar delay and twice for food delay, which set the expectation, but once we got everything, it wasn’t worth the wait. The lobster bisque was flavorful, but overall thin like chicken broth and barely any lobster pieces in both mine and my husband’s bowls. My husband was disappointed in receiving a medium well steak when he ordered medium rare but was so hungry from waiting that he didn’t want to request another. The pistachio crusted halibut I got seemed to just have honey mustard for chicken tenders drizzled on top and I tasted pistachio in a single bite. For the price we were charged, I was shocked to receive this quality of food. Even the “specialty” Brussels sprouts ended up being charred with salt and pepper….it’s fine if it’s simple, but let the price match the quality and creativity.

First time at this Chop House and it exceeded expectations. We were there for my mom’s birthday, they even surprised her with a little birthday dessert. The service and chatting with the owner is what made the night. We can get good food anywhere but when you pair it with great people and atmosphere, that’s what makes the difference. Thanks for the hospitality!

My experience at Greeley Chophouse was amazing. Our service was top notch! The manager took the time to stop by or take multiple time to make sure all was good! The food was out of this world! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to go out and have the full experience. The experience is worth the money you will spend here. I ordered the beef carpacio for an appetizer, the baked stuffed walleye for my entree, seared Tuna for my wife’s entree, the creme brulee for my dessert, the bread pudding for the wife’s dessert, and a bottle of wine recommended by our server. A+++

Took my mom out for a special dinner while she was in town. The waitress wasn’t very attentive and kept saying they were really busy (they weren’t). The steak I asked for medium-well was cooked medium-rare and my mom’s the opposite. I guess their head chef quit without notice so they’re training new chefs. But at an upscale steakhouse, I expect my steak to be cooked perfectly every time. Even after I sent it back, it was still undercooked. The flavor was really good though and my mom said her lobster was great.

Disheartening

I had heard the hype about this place, and that’s what it is……hype.
Surreal experience, and not in a good way.

Steak came smothered in a SALTY gravy (that may have been intended as an au jus?, but au jus isn’t thick, nor served on top, but on the side) without warning, but the mashed potato came dry…. for reasons? Why would a dry aged steak in a “high end” restaurant need anything?

For the money charged, the sample sized serving of mashed potatoes seemed almost petty.

Was not served with a soup or salad…….. reasons? I wasn’t even asked if I wanted either… for this tier of place one or both is the standard,…. perhaps they were out for the night..

When I was asked if everything was OK, I expressed my concern/surprise, I was rebuffed. They said EVERYONE should do it like this.

When I was finished with the steak I was asked if I wanted any of their desserts. I asked if any were made in house…..No, delivered food service, nothing local. Uhm….Pass…..

I travel ALOT and eat the wide variety of choices at the different places I visit. The entire spectrum, I judge a place based upon performance in the range of their peers. This is on the lower end of experiences here in the Greeley area.

If I have a less than stellar experience, I’m usually open to giving the place a redo, and remember that perhaps there may be a cause for the meal. When I asked, to find out if perhaps this was the case, nope they were emphatic, this is how it’s done here…

Overall experience here at this “Chophouse” is like staying at a $300/ night hotel, and then they want to charge $12 to use the pool.

The attitude, it cheapens the experience on something that isn’t any different than what a national chain could deliver…

Disappointed……

We have visited the Chophouse many times in the past for our special celebrations and have enjoyed the food and service. Tonight was our anniversary and so we chose the Chophouse again. I understand it had changed hands in January. Our server was very good and we appreciate her work. However the end feelings we had were disappointment based on past experiences. The prices have gone up substantially. Tonight we arrived near opening but several items were already “out”, mainly the prime rib we both wanted. I heard others ask about items and we told they were out of the lamb and Michelob. It seemed odd that on the first day of the operating week and early in the evening that things would be “out”. We also brought a coupon from the local Greeley ad magazine for 15% off our purchase. We figured it meant the whole purchase of the meal but when the check arrived, $1.20 had indeed been deducted. The waitress nicely explained that purchase meant one item on the list not the whole tab and they were instructed to use the least expensive item. So, we got $1.20 off our dessert (which was wonderful). Just a heads up on any coupons you might want to use -read carefully. Overall, an underwhelming experience.

As others have mentioned the cost doesn’t reflect the quality in a lot of the dishes. We had crab cakes that you could tell had been sitting out for a bit and we’re pretty bland. The dessert was burnt (I had the croissant bread pudding) and it was charred on the outside and not very flavorful. The steak however was very much on point. Perfectly cooked and great flavor, the risotto was great as well but mashed potatoes we’re also bland. For nearly 260 dollars it wasn’t what I anticipated.

The salmon mouse on cucumber slices was excellent, great savory salmon flavor.
Had the pan roasted halibut, was cooked perfectly, fish was silky and fresh, although the honey mustard drizzle over it is not a good flavor combo, did not compliment each other. The smoked bacon risotto was creamy and prepared well, not undercooked.
Prices were high, but the food was near or at the level of price point.
Service was only adequate from the bar, since reservations were full.
Would go again and try something different.

This is the 3rd time coming to the Chophouse. We come every year for our anniversary. The last 2 experiences were very good but this recent visit was very unpleasant and that’s coming from 2 pretty patient and understanding people.
We were charged for an extra beer I didn’t order, some of our food never came, my wife was given the incorrect steak. We never had the chance to ask for refills or get the correct meal because our waitress didn’t stop to check up on us. We understand it can be hard sometimes especially if understaffed. But for the amount of money everything is priced at, customer service should be better. What happened?
