Best gyro I have had in 10 years. The food was delicious, starts you off with fresh baked bread and butter. Super fast service, friendly old school Greek restaurant! 10/10.
Second stop at this amazing restaurant. Simply delicious. Fast service, friendly staff. Omaha has something special at this place!

Enjoyed the food here, portion was decent for the price. Service wasn’t the quickest despite not being too busy but the staff were nice and friendly.

The restaurant itself had a cozy feel and plenty of space.

We got the chicken and tilapia. Flavour was okay, not salty and chicken was juicy. I thought the fish tasted clean but the rice wasn’t what I expected.

Would probably stop by again if I’m around the area and try the other dishes as well.

I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors of the Greek food at this restaurant. We started with the octopus appetizer, which was just okay—not great, not bad. I didn’t particularly enjoy how it was cooked, as it was a bit too soft and lacked the firm, springy texture I was hoping for in the tentacles. However, the sauce on top was quite good and helped bring some flavor to the dish.

We also ordered both the street gyro and lamb gyro sandwiches, and they were absolutely delicious. The white yogurt sauce really elevated everything. The meat was a bit salty for my taste, but overall, the experience was still enjoyable.

The restaurant isn’t fancy, but it offers a down-to-earth atmosphere with great food. Despite arriving at 11:40 a.m. on a weekday, the place was packed, which speaks to its popularity.

Greek islands is my favorite restaurant in all of Omaha. Their Greek food is top-tier and shockingly affordable for the massive meal size. Plus the staff are really nice! The diner is nice if you want to sit-in, and their takeout system is quick+easy if you want to eat at home. I have never in my life been disappointed, and will continue to eat there as long as I can

Greek islands should be considered an Omahan landmark. Since it opened in 1983, the food has progressively gotten better while creating a home style, welcoming atmosphere. My family was welcomed into the restaurant posted with murals and other excellent art. For an appetizer, I ordered the flaming cheese. Our waitress walked out with it, set it on fire and yelled “Opa!”. It tasted wonderful too. Definitely something to get if you have kids at the table. I ordered the Piklia, a plate of Pastichio, Dolmathes, a chicken leg, and two Greek potatoes. The Pastichio is a savory noodle dish that just falls apart in your mouth. The Dolmathes is wonderfully cooked ground beef, rice, and spices wrapped in a grape leaf and a wonderful sour sauce. The Greek potatoes are like no potatoes I’ve ever had. They are tender, buttery, and made with a wonderful blend of spices. Overall, Greek Islands is now my go-to Greek restaurant in Omaha.

Greek Islands is an excellent restaurant that serves flavorful, delightful and scrumptious Greek food!! The atmosphere is warm, comfortable and inviting! Our waitress today was Maddie and she was impeccable, caring and conscientious in her service!! I had the dinner Pikki Lea and everything was perfect including the chicken, Greek potatoes, souvlaki, moussaka, and dolmades!!! I recommend this restaurant Highway and if you are in Omaha stop by for a Greek feast!! You could probably have some Ouzo too, but I can’t stand licorice or the taste of licorice so I can’t drink it they also have wonderful baked goods including some beautiful baklava!! Opa!!

One of my favorite restaurants on earth. The gyro meat and tzatziki are superb. The feta cheese sticks are also very good. When I visit Omaha, the Greek Island Restaurant is a must see.

By far some of the best Greek food in Omaha. They were super busy but still managed to provide excellent service. They ran out of clean cutlery for a bit and made sure to bring out to go cutlery so you had something until they could bring the normal cutlery out. Their menu is expansive with so many good choices. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal tonight!
