The appetizer sampler plate ($18) was great — I liked all of the components. I’ve had similar appetizer samplers at other Mediterranean restaurants and this was one of the better ones in terms of flavors. The hummus and spanakopita were particularly tasty. I’d get this again.
The fried calamari ($14) was plentiful and tasty. The fry was not too greasy, the breading was light and crispy, and the calamari was tender. I would get this again.
The chicken kebab plate ($18) was a good amount of food. I didn’t love the chicken — it wasn’t very tender and it was pretty lightly seasoned. The onion in between the chicken pieces was pretty burnt. The rice pilaf was a bit disappointing as well. I liked the Greek salad — good seasoning and fresh vegetables.
The special gyro ($11) was decent. The gyro wasn’t strongly flavored so it kinda blended into the bread. The sauce was also unevenly distributed (mostly at the bottom). We probably wouldn’t get this again.
Overall we really enjoyed the appetizers and calamari at Greek Corner, but didn’t love the entrees that we tried. The prices are definitely reasonable — you get a lot of food for a decent price. Next time I’m craving Greek appetizers, I know where to come!
For over three decades, Greek Corner has been a neighborhood gem, and I got to try them a couple times thanks to my colleagues’ recommendations. It’s not flashy, nor does it chase trends, but that’s precisely its charm.
Favorite Dishes: Avgolemono Soup, Lamb Chops
Solid Choices: Taramosalata, Beef Kebab, Baklava
The dishes here strike a nice balance between simplicity and soulfulness, and my favorites so far were the avgolemono soup and the lamb chops. Creamy yet bright, the egg-lemon classic soup was very comforting, and it was apparently the most popular item for takeout. Then the lamb chops. Given the price tag, I didn’t expect much, but it was perfectly tender and juicy.
Highly recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for a reliable and affordable Greek comfort food.
The food was delicious. The roasted lamb sandwich served with pita bread was my favorite between these two. The tenderness of the meat was just right.I will go back to try another dish.
Appetizer sampler: Hummus was ok, taramosalata was too sweet, tzatziki was thin and wasn’t in a container so it ran all over the other foods.
Chicken kebab plate: chicken was spiced fairly well but hadn’t been properly brined or marinated so it was dry. The salad was mostly just iceberg with a couple shreds of onion and carrot, an occasional piece of romaine. I’d expect a more ‘greek-style’ salad from a greek restaurant: olives, feta, green pepper, or such.
Lamb kebab plate, first it was 4 chunk of meat which were about half the serving size at most other restaurants. The lamb was extremely chewy with lots of connective tissues. One of the four was so bad that it was inedible. Low quality meat and lack of proper marinading to compensate for it.
The whole meal felt like they were cutting corners on both cost and time.
No reason to return when there are so many other options right nearby

In the vast sea of culinary establishments, The Greek Corner Restaurant emerges as a beacon of authentic Greek flavors, transporting diners to the sun-kissed landscapes of Greece with every bite. Having recently returned from a Grecian adventure, my taste buds were yearning for the hearty and robust flavors I had grown fond of. My visit to The Greek Corner did more than just satiate this yearning—it was a delightful voyage through a unique culinary tradition.
The stars of my meal were undoubtedly the moussaka and gyro. The moussaka was a layered paradise of scrumptious flavors, crowned with a bechamel sauce that was nothing short of a creamy dream. Its delightful milkiness paired with the robustness of the meat, eggplant, and potatoes created a harmonious dance of flavors that beckoned forkful after forkful.
On the other hand, the gyro was a masterful display of Greek culinary expertise. Wrapped in a soft, warm pita, the meat was tender and seasoned to perfection, evoking memories of bustling Athens eateries. The homemade tzatziki sauce was the proverbial cherry on top—cool, creamy, and packed with a zesty tang that brightened the hearty flavors of the gyro.
However, every rose has its thorns, and for me, it was the Greek fries. My personal preference leans towards a crispy, crunchy texture, but these fries seemed to steer towards a softer semblance, possibly a characteristic of the potato variety used. Despite this minor hiccup, my culinary journey remained largely undeterred.
One can’t help but appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable service provided at The Greek Corner. The servers were more than just order takers—they were guides through the Greek culinary landscape, enhancing the dining experience manifold.
I eagerly look forward to my next visit to The Greek Corner Restaurant, for there’s still a myriad of flavors waiting to be explored. The authenticity and warmth encapsulated in this quaint eatery promise many more delightful gastronomic adventures.
