Have been here before and food was good. Ordered take out, very simple fried rice and egg rolls. You virtually could not eat either one because the food was so greasy that the container was literally absorbing the grease and the paper the egg rolls were in did the same. May try it again but will probably try other places first.

5-Star Review: Great Wall of China in Plainfield – A Flavor Explosion Worth Every Bite!

If you’re craving authentic Chinese cuisine that hits all the right notes, look no further than Great Wall of China in Plainfield. From the moment you step in, the warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. But let’s be real—the food is the undisputed star here, and it’s nothing short of phenomenal.

We started with some appetizers, but the real showstoppers were the entrees. I *had* to try the Mongolian beef, and oh man, it was a game-changer! Tender, juicy strips of beef wok-tossed with crisp green onions and a perfect balance of sweet-savory sauce that clings to every bite.

Then came the Kung Pao chicken, and it delivered on every level. Spicy, nutty, and loaded with diced chicken, peanuts, and veggies in a glossy sauce that’s fiery yet harmonious. The heat builds just enough to thrill your taste buds, but it’s never overwhelming—paired with steamed rice, it’s pure comfort food elevated to art.

Everything was fresh, generously portioned, and cooked to perfection. Prices are fair, service is speedy, and the flavors? Chef’s kiss. If you’re in Plainfield and want Chinese that transports you straight to the streets of Beijing, this is your spot. Can’t wait to go back for round two!

This place has fresh Chinese food. I ordered the general tsos chicken and the empress chicken and both dishes have awesome flavors and lots of sauce spread on top of the chicken. Online ordering was easy to navigate and fast processing times. Went inside and my order was already for me nice and fast when it said 15 to 25 minutes but it was less than that with great service. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful place. This is the only Chinese place we have come to in the area for years. The food is always consistent, delicious, and hot. They are always speedy, on time with our take-out times, and they even throw in extra cakes or treats sometimes on top of the fortune cookies. Very nice people at the take out counter as well. Highly recommended!

Pleasant people, unpleasant food. We ordered for the first time and the staff was very friendly and the delivery driver was very nice. The food was lukewarm with several dishes overcooked and having a poor taste. Fried rice was almost blacked with too much soy sauce and no chicken.

Definitely not worth repeating even though the staff were nice people. Plus it was pretty pricey.

When given the option of what meal I’d like on Sunday, why not grab some Chinese cuisine from Great Wall?! Restaurant with bar was not seating inside but take out was all I wanted. Hostess was kind and food was ready on time. Entryway and restaurant space seemed very clean and in order so hopefully they can get inside business going again soon. Chicken fried rice was great along with Kung Pao Chicken (would have liked spicier but I can ask for next time) and chicken with garlic sauce and onion was great paired with extra white rice as it was saucy! Overall great takeout experience and one day I’ll be back to grab a meal inside. If someone has a go to menu item from here, let me know!

Went in for lunch haven’t been here in years. Old lady with dirty hair was terrible horrible attitude, terrible service. I didn’t even eat the food. My wife and I paid for our bill and left before the soup hit the table. Stay away. It’s garbage.

I don’t normally stray from Golden Chopstick’s in Bolingbrook because it’s hard to beat, but tonight I ordered from Great Wall of China in Plainfield. Mongolian beef and Sizzling Spicy Beef Tenderloin…delicious …tender quality meat and a lot of it!!! Appetizer’s were great also. Crab rangoon was in a thinner wrapper…so fresh and good. I will be back!!

Just picked up orange chicken and Triple Delight. Disappointed on both. The orange chicken looks like left over from lunch special, dry and tasteless. Frozen from Costco is much better. Triple Delight is too much liquid and black sauce. I had to dive in to catch some shredded chicken, shrimps and bbq pork. These are orange chicken photo and compare what I got with menu online.

The beef and broccoli tasted like no other beef and broccoli I’ve had before. It tasted like it was grilled/bbq’d and it was so good
