I have been wanting to try this place for a while but always remember when they are closed(Sunday and Monday). Finally got the chance today. I was the only dine in customer but there were quite a few patrons who had called in orders. The waitress was attentive and kept my water filled! I got the oyster chicken and cake noodles with a side of rice. Which is probably my only complaint, the meal should have rice included. All in all I enjoyed everything. Flavor was great. The food was super hot. Loved the hot mustard. Fair price for the amount of chicken and cake noodles I received. Recommend and will bring others here for sure.

The Great Wall Chinese Restaurant was an unexpected find. We try to find non-touristy and local restaurants. It’s about 35 minutes from Honolulu. Annika (sp?) was a wonderful server. She answered all our questions, gave perfect suggestions and was very attentive. The food was delicious and had leftovers (we ordered a lot). We had crab rangoons & the soft won tons as appetizers. Pat ordered the General Tso’s Chicken Plate and half Roasted Duck, which he LOVED. I ordered the Pepper Garlic Pork Chop (DELICIOUS!!) and Hawaiian Fried Rice. I asked for sau-sau-an (sp? a type of Filipino vinegar garlic dipping sauce), which added to the taste of the pork. The Ube Ice Cream was a delicious surprise. The reason for the 4 stars for food is because the fried rice was a little overcooked. If we were staying longer, we would go to it a few more times. If you get a chance to go, you won’t be sorry.

Aloha Everyone! Got a new review for you today! My husband wanted to pick up dinner from Great Wall Chinese Restaurant, so I decided to order the Orange Chicken Plate with Garlic Fried Rice. I liked it well enough, very mild tasting, no strong flavors. Normally I like a more bold taste in my food but I wasn’t feeling well the past week so mild worked better for me. The chicken pieces were popcorn size, just right, I dislike huge chunks. The Orange Chicken was a tad bit on the dry side but they had a decent amount of sauce so it ended up being ok. It didn’t seem like freshly crushed garlic was used in the Garlic Fried Rice because it did not have a strong garlic flavor at all so depending on how you like yours, it might or might not be to your taste. Same goes for the Orange Chicken. Not a strong orange flavor. On the weak side compared to other places. The French Fries were VERY IMPRESSIVE which is funny because when my husband told me they served fries here I busted out laughing. I wasn’t laughing when I ate them though! I was shocked at how super super good they were! PERFECT in fact. Wouldn’t think to order fries at a Chinese Restaurant but if you like fries, do yourself a favor and don’t pass on these! They seriously blow 95% of the competition in this area away. My Husband had the Black Pepper Chicken and an order of Fried Rice with peas and carrots. He enjoyed his meal. My mom had the Cold Ginger Chicken Plate. She said it was good. Sauce was different from the majority of places with the bright green so it depends on your taste. Very good service at this establishment. Really nice people and that always makes doing a review a pleasure. Mahalo for reading and Support Local!!!

My Husband wanted Great Wall Chinese Restaurant last night for Dinner, and this time he picked the Kim Chee & SPAM fried rice. I could tell when I took the photos that he would be disappointed because honestly I didn’t see the Kim Chee. It was there apparently, you just needed to use tweezers. Order something else. My mom however, got the Large Order of Won Ton Soup and this was VERY satisfying for her. She enjoyed the vegetables along with good broth, and of course the won tons in there. There were TEN (10 pcs.) Of LARGE Won Ton!!! She was very very happy and said from now on this is where she is ordering from because she never saw such generous portions anywhere else. They also gave hot mustard too. I just ordered the fries because all day I didn’t have much of an appetite and I needed to take my meds so it was enough for me. I did however order dessert today. Deep fried Oreos for my mom and Butter Mochi for me. The Oreos got a thumbs up but I would pass on the Butter Mochi.

Aloha! Tried something new on the Great Wall menu tonight. Tried their Mochiko Chicken with plain fried rice. Although I had much more flavorful ones elsewhere, I really liked the bit size pieces and it was cooked to perfection. I had my own sauce so it worked out fine. I liked the plain fried rice for its simplicity. I do not, sadly, like the peas, carrots or egg like they have in normal fried rice that most locals like. Sorry. Just me. I really liked the deep fried plain dough with honey dipping sauce very simple but made well. U can make any dessert you want from the deep fried dough if you don’t want to use their dipping sauce. Add ice cream with chocolate or caramel sauce, whipped cream with strawberries, or dunk them in coffee! I highly recommend you trying them ❤️ my husband who was nice enough to pick up our food tonight, tried their chow funn noodles with bean sprouts and char siu. He said it was good. As usual, their fries were awesome. Crispy and hot . Moms enjoyed her usual won ton soup. Mahalo for reading and as always, please support local!!

It is probably the only Chinese food place in Wahiawa. Food is just ok. Not worth the price. Good for casual dining. Hot and sour soup is pretty decent. Kung Pao Chicken is not presentable at all, probably because it’s missing red and green peppers. Mongolian beef has too much oil and corn starch. Fried rice in general is very dry and hardly any oil.

Our waitress recommended the honey walnut shrimp, hot sour soup, cake noodle w sauce. Eggplant, & Mongolian beef. All were excellent. I loved the unusually sour soup, nicely coated shrimp, & the Mongolian beef was spice just right. My wife who loves spicy on the other hand has a few of the dried peppers in the beef to light her fire! Going back soon bc the price was also just right for this wonderfully decorated home of Chinese cuisine.

Very clean, well lit, and well furnished. The staff were friendly and timely with seating, order, check, etc. I tried the orange chicken, sesame chicken, and general tso’s chicken. All had a great fry batter, sauce, and taste. The sesame chicken was a little salty, but the texture made up for it. Highly recommended if you’re craving chinese. They do take-out as well.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. Aside from the high prices for small portion sizes we really enjoyed our meals here.

One of the better Chinese restaurants from my many tries.
The Kung Pao was a generous serving, and nicely spicy.
I tried Spicy Cashew Chicken at another visit, and it was good too

Quintessential Chinese-American food, full of refined starch, cooking oil and artificial colouring. People seem to love it! Granted, some of the dishes, like the Pekin duck, really were delicious.
Service, no matter my food preferences, was excellent. Friendly, casual atmosphere that’s great for large parties or family meals.
Also, it’s cold in here, so bring a jacket.
