we have eaten Chinese in almost every Chinese restaurant within 60 miles of COBLESKILL. I can honestly tell you this is probably the worst Chinese food I have actually eaten anywhere. It’s sad to say but this is a review and honesty matters. Their lo mein is either undercooked or mushy. GENERAL sells chicken orange chicken etc. is so overcooked and dried out that you can hardly eat it. The eggrolls are either overcooked greasy or dried out. I often order vegetable lo mein with extra vegetables here what I got was a Peapod yes one P pod I paid for extra vegetables and I got one Peapod and virtually no vegetables at all. Their wonton soup broth if you notice is brown I’m going to give this five Question marks????? and the reason I’m doing this is because I have never seen wonton soup broth that was dark brown it is normally light yellow or clear. They’re wontons are so thick that is like eating one of those mushy toys you use when you have arthritis in your hands. You used to get eight wontons in your wonton soup now you get five and sometimes you get four!! I truly have to say that if you plan on eating here Seriously drive to Middleburg and get your Chinese there. I think the reviews pretty much speak for themselves!!

I am not at all happy with my experience with this restaurant. I went there recently with my boyfriend and he’s been having a hard time with his stomach since then. The food is very bland and under cooked. The Sweet and Sour sauce tastes like lemon anti bacterial wipes. They did not give us Fortune Cookies with our order. Food is not worth it’s price, especially if it makes you sick since it’s not cooked thoroughly. There’s a much better Chinese Restaurant in Middleburgh that is safer to eat at. The only saving grace for this place is the workers there are very polite.

I feel like all they did was toss some chicken nuggets in some gelled sauce. Literally both my dishes looked like they were slid from a can. Egg rolls were taken from a cooler next to the soda cooler, all I have to say is never again. My advice is go next door to Price chopper and by some frozen Chinese to cook yourself

We’ve ate there in the past and the food was ok. This time, not so much. I ordered a pork egg roll, an order of shrimp toast, an order of teriyaki beef sticks, a quart of wonton soup and a garlic chicken lunch special with fried rice. Almost nothing was edible and $36 wasted. The egg roll was just ok. The wonton soup was so flavorless and watered down that it wasn’t good. The shrimp toast was somehow way overcooked yet some of the “toast” was soggy bread that didn’t sit in the oil long enough to get crispy. The beef sticks were like charred jerky with almost no sauce/flavor except for the burnt bitterness. The only thing I was ok with was the garlic chicken with rice but it was missing most of the vegetables that belong in it. Never again, lesson learned, avoid like the plague.

Very disappointed. Pork chow mein, one quarter of the dish was chow mein the other 3/4 was over cooked rice. The chow mein was basically onions with pork strips and very few other vegetables. The rice was under the chow mein so it gave the appearance that there was a lot of chow mein. The egg roll was tiny and the bag of noodles was half empty. They made a huge profit and I got a very tiny amount of tasteless food. The windows were so filthy that I couldn’t see out. Not going back.

Even just walking in and looking around, theres a reason this place is empty. Dated everything. Plastic cutlery in bins, they served us our food in plastic takeout containers despite us dining in. General tso’s / gao’s chicken was bland and forgettable, same with the rice. Still somehow the best part of the experience. The gentle person behind the counter was loud but otherwise inoffensive service.
Update: the two others I dined with agreed that it was nasty. Were never eating there again, and personally by the way my stomach felt halfway through the meal I may never want to ever. I havent tried the pizza house next door, but go there instead. time and money will be wasted here. Ruined my day.
It appears they use thigh instead of breast for their chicken, making it fatty and unappealing. one of my group ordered pork fried rice, that made us all wonder if there was any pork at all in it.

Food is pretty good. I’ve ordered from here multiple times with no issues. Yesterday was the first time I ate in the restaurant, probably the last time I’ll eat in there. There was dirt on the walls, all sorts of crud on the windowsill, the table was sticky, and it didn’t smell too nice in there either. Also, it was also very gloomy inside.

This is the only place I eat Chinese in schoharie county. The tofu is amazing, and has been for 10 years!! Their containers don’t leak. The customer service is great, woman at the counter is amazing. interior is outdated, I recommend doing take out and bringing to the park or back home.

We just got Chinese at best cook on route 20. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to get orange chicken that actually has sauce on it. The chicken is tender and juicy and just the right crispiness it’s absolutely perfect.
NOTHING LIKE…..
The dried up orange chicken I got from these guys, then took it in and had it replaced and got the same dried up chicken with no sauce on it again. My sister ordered GENERAL Sows chicken. The chicken was so dry she couldn’t eat it and it also had no sauce on it. They replaced that meal also same thing no sauce dried up chicken Hard and crunchy! WE GIVE UP NEVER AGAIN!! I guess the people in Cobleskill are ignorant to what good Chinese food is or they just don’t care or are happy to just get whatever is close. The difference is that I don’t like paying for food I can’t eat. I also don’t like looking forward to my dinner and getting home in Schoharie and finding out my dinner is crap and I can’t eat it and then I have to make another trip to take it back and get it replaced only to get the same thing again. These guys could really take a lesson from the cooks at BEST COOK!! THEIR FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AND WE NEVER WANT TO BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH OUR MEAL!!
