Moved to Patchogue for work a few months ago and this quickly became my new home away from home. Bartenders have always been friendly and attentive, a good movie is always playing, and the beer and wine selections constantly changing. It’s a smaller spot and can get pretty crowed on the weekends. Really love the sense of welcoming and community I’ve gotten from hanging there.

Been here a couple times but tonight changed my entire view. I get it, it’s a holiday Monday and it’s raining..but the whole situation of service was ridiculous. Walked in with 2 friends and there were 4 people at the bar, no bartender to be found. It’s cool, fine. We wait and wait…one customer from the bar disappears downstairs. My friends were joking and asking if it’s self serve, and at this point after 15 minutes and doodling on the chalkboard walls, I’m debating serving myself and hoping the bartender doesn’t care. 5 minutes later another customer from the bar disappears downstairs. We were there more than 20-25 minutes when the bartender finally came upstairs, didn’t acknowledge us or say hello to the 3 new customers…and as we were ready to order a drink he came to us to say “Hey guys, yeah I’m going to close down for the night.” Hours posted said they were still open for another hour.. ok fine, I get it. But you have people at the bar still drinking and you were gone for the last 20+ minutes doing God knows what, and wiping your face and mouth as you returned to the bar(think of that what you will). Trashy. Unprofessional. At least apologize for your absence or maybe offer “last call”. Whoever runs the place should be aware, but maybe they already are. I’ve heard some things about this place in the evening, but never experienced it until tonight. When you are one of the only places open, you should probably be ready to serve. Went down to Whiskey Neat and it was packed with tons of people, service industry people from the area, and their friends. Speaks volumes about what is happening at GSB. Likely won’t be back unless it’s earlier in the day when the staff is still functioning. 2 stars for the simple fact that I was fine with waiting and would have still ordered a drink, but “hospitality” fell short here, by miles.

Spent a day exploring Patchogue with my girlfriend and this was a stand out spot. The vibe was more familiar to Brooklyn where we live. Very nice staff and great bar snacks. My lady got the nachos and I got the sardines. We were going to get food down the block but it was too pricey for no good reason. This place was just right for a snack and a decent selection of beers. Close to the train station as well.

I met the love of my life here. Great atmosphere, great people, amazing music, perfect drinks. Years later, my fiance proposed to me in the place we first met. This place will forever be a part of my story. Also, the bartenders are pretty hot.

Perfect combination of a hipster bar and a dive bar. Beer selection is on point. I had their gin cocktail “bee’s knees” and its divine. Small bar eats – apps and a couple sandwiches – not a big food variety, but perfect bar food. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful, artistic dive. Easily one of the best places in Patchogue, if not the Island. TV is always playing an interesting show or indie film, music is always on point. Great selection of beers. Terry is the man.
