Cool vibe and amazing barbecue. Had the smoked wings with a special buffalo/beet sauce. Hot and sweet. The wings are great just as is. We also got a side of burnt ends and their brisket nachos. Both were great. Glad we found this place because of the RI Food Fight lord of the wings. Definitely coming back. Forgot that I had the Great Northern Old Fashioned and it went great with the food. The photos are from while we were eating.

Small restaurant with a fun atmosphere. The black a red theme was different. The service was great. The food was ok. Not hot and some of it seemed like it was leftovers. We were there around opening time so maybe from the day before. Overall was satisfied.

This has to be the best BBQ meal I’ve had in a while the brisket and the pork were both cooked to perfection, the sides were all really good. Nothing lacked. The server was awesome and very friendly I’m sad I didn’t catch his name but he’s our “Costco friend”!

I surprised my husband by taking him here for lunch. He loves barbecue. Let me tell you, this place…. Great Northern BBQ Co. in Providence, RI … All I can say is“Wow, this is fabulous barbecue!!” –
The pulled pork and ribs were so delicate and tasty, and the chicken wings along with delicious coleslaw! Homemade fresh cornbread with a little drizzle of maple syrup made this perfect. Oh, did I mention the mac and cheese? !! So delish! The inside was very cozy, lots of wood, very rustic.. … outside was very nice too, with lots of umbrellas and picnic tables. The service was excellent.
Needless to say, my husband absolutely loved it! He gave it a 10 !! We will definitely be going back.
Who needs to go down south when you have the “Great Northern BBQ Co.” right here in RI ? Make sure to check them out if you love barbecue! These owners definitely take pride in their business and it shows in their food!

Awesome food from start to finish! I had the brisket, and it was so tender and juicy that I didn’t even need a knife. We also ordered a half rack of ribs, which were perfectly cooked, along with the amazing mac and cheese. Definitely, comfort food done right.
What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was the service. Northern Great BBQ is lucky to have Jenny. Her service and drinks were outstanding. She’s incredibly charismatic and fun, and most importantly, she genuinely takes care of you. She constantly checks in to see if you need anything and makes sure everything is good. Her vibe is incredible and really elevates the entire experience.

This is my second time at this place, in all honesty it’s a cool little spot. I’ve always found that the food is good, in-house smoked in the back of the restaurant. The sauces used are mostly of the vinegar based sauces, which some people don’t like….but to me it’s cool. The smoky flavor of everything was on point. Collard greens I enjoyed and the Brussel Sprouts are great. The Ribs were good, but my date didn’t like that the end of the ribs were charred a lot, but I personally like that.
If there was anything that I could complain about it’s that the Ribs or Chicken were not hot, but the flavors are all there.

Food tasted great! Value was incredible! Service was so ridiculously fast it was unreasonable, like legitimately we ordered a party platter and it took like 10 minutes. Unbelievably fast! Five stars!!!!!!

Visited for the first time for Lord Of The Wings. We were immediately greeted by the bartender who was super sweet. We got to pick where we sat and they have an amazing wood bench that you can sit on all the tables are covered in paper so if you make a mess, it’s totally OK. We got two different kinds of wings and two sides. We tried the special Korean barbecue and the sweet barbecue. Both were amazing. They’re also was mac & cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. They were absolutely amazing. Definitely will be back.

Went on a Saturday evening for dinner. Place was almost empty. Our server was great; funny and very helpful! The wings were delicious, could’ve eaten another plate of those especially with that tangy BBQ sauce. The homemade pickles are also crazy good. So easy to just keep eating them. The ribs were cooked great and the mac and cheese was very flavorful as well. The biggest misses were the brisket sandwich, the sweet potato fries, and the banana pudding (not pictured here). The brisket sandwich was too simple, too bare, and on the dry side because of the lack of sauce. The sweet potato fries were pretty floppy and lame. The banana pudding was really not enjoyable, it comes in a plastic smoothie cup and it’s just a sloppy, sickly-sweet mess.
Overall, I still enjoyed my dinner despite these misses. I’ll definitely be returning!

Great service, good food, casual atmosphere. Everything was homemade. We sat in their patio which is behind the restaurant shared with a small parking lot. Perfect for non-rainy days. The half rack of ribs seemed like a full rack. I I recommend the flight of sauces. They forgot the coleslaw on our pulled pork sandwich and returned with a nice sized bowl of slaw- the slaw could have used more of a zing! The cornbread was different it was dense and not too sweet, I enjoyed the honey which of course added the sweetness. The asparagus was perfect for me, too burned for bae- we both ate it all. We’ll definitely return to try more food and drinks. The drink specials we tried were very good!
