Well i meant to take picture of the food but I ate it fast because I was hungry. I haven’t been to Great Mex since I was a kid when they had one location at the beach. Back then my friends and I would get hammered and have a night cap at Great Mex with some tacos. It was THE place if you were a local. It’s been years since I’ve been back in town. I forgot about this place but thankfully was reminded of it as a great staple for mexican food. I ordered a carne asada burrito. The staff was great and patient with me while I was trying to order. I got my food in no time. A decent staple after all these years.

I have been eating at this restaurant on and off for the last 10 years. I say on and off because when I have an unpleasant experience, I take a break from them until I forget how bad they are. Last night my wife and I ordered 2 meals for pick up and when we got home realized they only gave us one, they said they only charged us for one. That was annoying but (somewhat) understandable. But when we opened our meal, the lettuce was slimy and rotten and so was their cilantro in their to go containers. The wife and I were surprised we didn’t get sick. The first clue should have been that the place was completely empty at 6pm on a Sunday night. This was the LAST time we are ordering from there. Not sure what else they serve that has gone bad but doesn’t seem like they care about it at all. The girl answering the phone sounded like she wanted to slit her wrists and I felt, I knew what kind of service we would receive. I understand why their other location shut down. I’d give any other restaurant a try before stepping into this one.
