I visited for the first time today and was greeted by a very polite and friendly attendant who asked if I wanted to sample their raspberry and cream cheese scone, which I found to be very fresh and delicious so I ordered one along with a raisin oatmeal cookie and a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. She did not charge me for the cookie, for she explained that they gave the first one away for free to the kids and I had told her it was for my daughter, and she also gave me an additional scone. The pastries were delicious, which is the only reason I am giving this place 3 stars. The biscuit, on the other hand was very disappointing, to say the least. The bread was slightly burned, and the bacon soggy. The sandwich was too greasy. I felt sick after the first bite. Perhaps they had an off day or the person that prepared the sandwich wasn’t paying attention. Either way, I hope they do better next time!

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the food! It’s a quaint space with an area for outdoor seating. Outside of the surplus of food options, there are a variety of homemade breads available for buy or to be eaten with your meal. There are a few other artisan foods/supplies for sale in the store as well. Was not terribly busy when I was there and food came out fast. The food was delicious and I definitely will be back! First time customer! Girlfriend and I came by after an appointment, and it was well worth the stop. The bread is fantastic and service was home town friendly. They also offered free samples to try different baked goods. A wonderful store atmosphere with great coffee. Girlfriend rates her Classic Bacon sandwich a 10/10. She says the garlic herb spread added a lot to the sandwich. While I had the Ruben, and let me tell you I’ve had a lot in my day, but this was the first Ruben I’ve had that wasn’t soggy or soft. The marble rye bread of the Ruben was firm and savory. The proportions of corn beef and sauerkraut are about 50/50. I personally love more corn-beef but the sandwich as a whole I give it a 9/10. Grabbed a loaf of Rosemary Salt to go, and can’t wait to come back and try a different sandwich! Thanks again!

Everything was delicious. We went in not realizing they were about 15 minutes from closing. I only realized because another person asked when they closed. They treated us kindly and patiently even giving me directions to get back on the right road to my house.

Very cozy and quaint bakery. Kind of like a Panera, but doesn’t taste artificial or prepackaged. I brought the cinnamon bread buns home for my family as a morning treat, and they all loved it. (If you do get those, heat it up in your microwave for 15 seconds)

Best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in a while, and definitely in the area. My friend and I couldn’t believe the prices and were shocked there wasn’t even an option to customize tips. I’ll know to bring cash next time to really make up the difference for what they should be charging. It’s not nearly enough!

The ham egg biscuit is SO delicious. The homemade cheesy biscuit is especially incredible. The coffee is great too and it’s a nice environment for working or a coffee date. Love this local place and the staff is so friendly.

Great Harvest Bread Company is not friendly to people of color! Please take your business elsewhere as this establishment does not treat every customer equally and fairly! My mother and I have attended this store multiple times and have received terrible customer service each visit. Today was our limit, as we were barely greeted and assisted. When we received assistance, the store manager walked away from us assuming we completed our order and left to attend to another customer! This customer was already being attended to as she was checking out products. After, the manager ran straight to the back and we didn’t see him since. Another employee then offered us assistance, after we stood and waited for 10 minutes! It is not a coincidence that each time we attend this store, the staff Is slow to assist us or leave at the drop of a hat to assist a customer that looks like them. We have even experienced the staff partaking in small conversations amongst each other, with no other customers around and they still are slow to assist us! After telling one of the employees our experience today, she kept insisting they were short staffed and what could she give us free for to have a better experience. No product, gift card, or beverage can replace the proper customer service my mother and I deserved as paying customers! We were not demanding an apology, but rather accountability to their actions for not serving us properly! If you do not look like the staff, it’s advised to go elsewhere. Today was our last try to have this company prove us wrong, but they have shown time and time again they do not care to serve customers who are of color. I will not be returning and let people within the community know about this.

A very nice local bakery and cafe in Midlothian. Their breads and pastries are terrific and the sandwiches are pretty good too.

This little hub in Midlothian was a gem I ran into purely by accident! I made the wrong turn exiting Wegmans, which is less than 10 blocks away from here, and decided to check it out. I admit, I am a bakery lover, so of course this would have been a place that needed my further notice. I was happy to know that they were serving lattes and craft coffee drinks despite the COVID19 situation going on. They were careful to handle items while making my drink and both the baker lady and the barista gentleman were very friendly. I had a “Honey Lavender latte” and it was delicious. It has a rich spicy aroma and taste. It is not overly sweet and you can taste a lasting vanilla flavor. Additionally, I got a raspberry cream cheese scone which is deliciously crumbly and moist. It does not taste greasy or too sweet. It sounds like this place makes things taste to perfection! I so so recommend it!!
