This restaurant is a hidden gem in a great area. Nearby there is a lodge, lake, woods, hiking trail, and most importantly for my visits — an airstrip just a short walk up the road. I have flown in several times to experience the area and every meal I’ve had has included excellent food and service. Friday nights (at least during the summer) and Sunday brunch are buffet service; other times we’ve ordered off the menu. The place feels like a bit of a blast from the past — in a good way.

We went for the Saturday buffet. They were supposed to have brisket and ribs. We got there 2 hours before they closed and they were out of both. The mashed potatoes were like a rock, desserts were horrible. Small children were running around the buffet. Our server was wonderful though. We will not return.

The food was very well prepared. Even though I have celiac there was plenty to choose from. The array of desserts could take your breath away. Just cut off the crust on some for my gluten issue. The view from the seating area was picturesque. The playful squirrels could entertain you for hours! Have some pie and and see some wildlife at a price that is like going to our local diner.
