Social Profile:

Inspired by the love and fellowship of Dead Heads — fans and followers of the band the Grateful Dead — two brothers wanted to share the experience of all the joy and fun of a live Dead show. That dream was found in the bones of an old abandoned school house in the Oauchita Mountains. In 2010, they began selling hippie-inspired pizza pies and cold draws of draft beer, always playing the “Dead” over the sound system. Soon the two Grateful Dead Heads came across an equally groovy inspired location in Hot Springs National Park. Come try some hot pie and cold beer while jamming to the sounds of the Grateful Dead.

This place is fantastic! We had the Casey Jones, and the Cosmic Charlie pizzas, and a small cheesesticks. The flavors were amazing! The atmosphere is very groovy and laid back, and the service was excellent. It sets back off the main drag and is built up on the hillside. If you visit Hot Springs check this spot out. It has been our favorite restaurant here.

Nice place to have pizza. The pizza, the crust and the flavor were great! We did a build your own with jalapenos, which were pickled. That just took the taste to next level for us. The server were kind and gracious, despite our kids making a mess.
Only downer is that wait can be really long. But I guess if you want good pizza then you can wait 🙂

The pizza is sooooooo good here!! I had the Tree Hugger pizza, as is, no modifications. It was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. It was loaded with delicious veggie toppings, just the right amout of sauce so it was not soggy whatsoever, and cooked perfectly. If you want to experience amazing pizza near Hot Springs, this is the place to go!!

Best pizza you’ll find in hot springs, hands down. I built my own small pizza, mushroom and bacon, and the house made mozzarella cheese really set off this pie! I also got a very well made mixed drink, which I was very skeptical about since it was served in a plastic cup. It was great!

Love this place and their food! Unfortunately no pizza today. We ordered online and drove 45 minutes only to find out they are closed. Google listing says open. Phone number is disconnected. A fresh post on your FB this morning but the restaurant is closed with no mention of this. No pizza but I have a pending charge on my debit card?

I really enjoyed coming to this place with my family. The waiter was courteous and talented playing his musical instruments while people waited for their pizza to arrive. He was also very knowledgeable about the different kinds of beer offered.
We were sat by the entrance which seemed a bit cramped, especially across from the restroom. The food was really good. My kid called it his new favorite pizza place. Too bad we’re from Texas and can’t drive up for a slice or two.
Overall, it was a nice experience with good food. We also got to keep the plastic cups the drinks came in as a souvenir.

Came in for a quick bite and found one beautiful and tasty pie.

The ingredients were fresh and tasty but it could have stayed a bit longer in the oven.

The staff were friendly and got a kick out when I asked “who did I get mad” and pointed at the writing on the cup.

Fun place.

We were STARVING after no breakfast and 2 hours at Quapaw bathhouse and walked up and down the street and settled on this little, literal hole in the mountain pizza place called Grateful Head Pizza and Beer Garden. Considering it was HOT outside, we wanted to sit inside and thankfully they had a table open. They have 4 tables plus bar seating inside and a very charming outdoor patio cut right into the mountain. We had soda to drink and kept our cups. One of us had the small Psychedelic Pizza and one had the Tree Hugger and we ordered a small Cheese Styx. Our waiter, also the bar keep, was SO NICE!!! Just so polite and attentive and he was running all over doing all kinds of things. It was amazing. All the food looked amazing. The pizza was not at all greasy. Obviously cooked in a brick oven and SO TASTY! We highly recommend this awesome pizza shop one block off the main drag.

Good Pizza and Beer. There are quite a few steps so if you have mobility issues it would be difficult to get to resturant. Only two single person bathrooms one on bottom floor and one on top floor.

If you want great food with a wonderful atmosphere for a decent price, this is your place. The restaurant decor and food can hold their own, but Pirdy truly makes the experience. His historical and local knowledge is only surpassed by his ability to convey the history in a funny and interesting way. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar and listened to him completely enthralled given his upbeat demeanor and relatable personality. Truly a wonderful spot with great people, highly recommend.
