We drove all the way from Oakville for a VEX Robotics competition and found this gem by chance. My son was craving a steak, and Grassroots did not disappoint! The steak was cooked to perfection—incredibly juicy and flavorful.
The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming, which was exactly what we needed after a long day of competition. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area or passing through. We’ll definitely be back if we’re in town again!

Fantastic restaurant! I was shocked at how nice this restaurant is when you step in the door. From the outside, you’d have no idea. The service is amazing, the food is amazing! They even give you a knife board to choose from. Such a nice touch! And their cocktails are top-notch!

Small and quaint little place with a wonderful atmosphere inside. One wood top table has a live edge. I ordered the hamburger which might be the best burger I’ve ever had. With a little zip and peppery finish, the concentration of grass fed organic beef, caramelized onions and bacon was done to perfection. Chuck, our server, bartender and receptionist was very knowledgeable and attentive.
Beef is their specialty and they offer steak and roast beef sandwiches as well.
Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

This was our first visit to Grassroots, for an anniversary dinner, and they did not disappoint. The food was absolutely divine, whisky sour and summer sangria were absolute perfection. Hubby says the steak was the best he’s ever had. Our server was very attentive, atmosphere was cozy-chique. Our visit was mid week, and it wasn’t very busy. 10/10 and amazing special restaurant, we will definitely be back.

Located in the middle of nowhere, from outside you could never tell. Inside a nice, cozy and small interior will make you feel very welcomed and appreciated. Steaks are dry aged on premise, and the chef was point on all of his dishes. This was easily the best dry aged sirloin I had in last 10 years. You can also get a 36oz porterhouse, but beware that feeds a family of four.

If you want a real European restaurant experience with a local twist, this is the place to go. The food is excellent, beautifully presented and the service was great. I’m not a big steak fan in general, but even I was impressed. The wine demi was something special. The creme brulee was so good I didn’t have time to take a photo of it Highly recommended!

Hard to know where to start except to say that the chef doesn’t seem to taste their own food because ALL the food ordered by our group was over salted. The burgers were over cooked and dry and I did not eat mine. The other thing is that if you are a vegetarian there isn’t much on the menu you can eat. The Brussels sprout salad is fried in beef tallow and they seem to use tallow in a lot of things. The risotto seems to be the safest thing on the menu. We did not complain about the food and they were kind enough to take my burger off the bill as they said I obviously didn’t enjoy it. The service was good quality which was nice to see. The decor could use a bit of tweaking with the addition of some local art on the walls and the removal of the cheap looking decoration they have there. Also lighting could be improved with the addition of a dimmer on the switch and some additional small lights on the table so it looks less like Grandma Lynn’s. The bar stools are totally funky and cool. We decided to meet our friend’s from St. Thomas in St. Thomas instead of them always having to make the hike to London. There is certainly potential there for a better restaurant and I’m sure a lot of pent up demand for a choice of a nicer dining experience in St. Thomas. Grassroots still needs a bit of work.

Such a hidden gem! Went for lunch and was very impressed with our experience. Brussels sprouts Caesar salad, duck wings & perch was all 10/10. Very flavourful and fresh.
Service was quick and friendly.

We found this place on a whim while visiting St. Thomas, our server (Chuck) was wonderful and the food was amazing!
We started with the cornbread (soooo good), and had the dry-aged burger as well as a featured 8 oz Ontario striploin, finishing off with the banana panna cotta.
I found the panna cotta slightly too dense and the peanut brittle too bitter but all in all it was a great meal! Would highly recommend!
