Huge THANK YOU to Grapes the Wine Company. We had gone on a vacation earlier this year and fell in love with a winery in Portugal. With the ever-changing tariff situation, it has been very uncertain with a lot of producers and importers. We were able to find several bottles of the wine we were looking for on their website and they kindly hand delivered it to our home in NJ on a date we arranged in advance. Amazing wine selection, and even better customer service. We will definitely be shopping with them again!

Grapes has a vast selection, and their notes on the wines are generally excellent. However, their execution is disappointing. Multiple times, someone has called after an order was submitted to say that the wine is out is stock. Don’t they have an inventory management system? Worse is the practice of selling “pre-arrival” product. In March 2024, I bought six bottles of a 2015 vintage Bordeaux. After seven conversations in which I was told that it would arrive, the product has not been delivered. In January 2025 Daniel unilaterally refunded my money, telling me that he will notify me when/if it arrives. Grapes disappoints.

I order online and shop in-store and both experiences have been exceptional. Online orders were processed quickly, carefully packaged and shipped fast. Grapes has a stellar selection of fine wine for the collector and their prices are competitive. I love to browse the shop and always stumble upon a bottle or two that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else, especially among their French wine selection. I’ve also found the salespeople to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful when I can’t find what I’m looking for.

I’ve been buying from them for over 10 years. Selection and prices are great . They’ve introduced me to a few lesser-known producers that I’ve come to enjoy. Customer service is sometimes a bit slow. You pay full price for shipping, no deals there, but they will hold wine for you free of charge until you get to a case and/or weather permits.
