Perfect place for a romantic dinner or to just have a drink. The drinks are excellent. And although the menu is very limited, the steaks and everything else was cooked to profection. The waitress was attentive and accomadating. The atmosphere is darl with candle light and the booths are private with walls on both sides.. The price for two was spendy though. Sorry i didn’t get pictures of the meal.

Margie was lovely. I just don’t understand why the sign says,

Check in with front end waitress, (or something like that), and so you wait. You wait. You don’t get assistance unless the only waitress serving you sees and says,
“Oohh! How many? Three? Go ahead and sit anywhere you like!”

We sat away from the bar. The crystal chandeliers and original wooden walls, wooden and tin ceilings, wooden piano, revolving doors, ballroom, front counter is BEAUTIFUL!! There are three restaurants in the old Montichello hotel in Longview, WA.

Also housed within are apartments, a coffee shop, and a ballroom for different venues. I wish a couple of the hotel rooms, like R. J. Long’s abode was restored to its original condition. The way it looked one hundred years ago!

The food was delicious, I had a bacon cheeseburger with sauteed zucchini and yellow squash. Very tasty. The bottled water comes from old bottles that used to hold 560 vodka in them. They sanitize and reuse them, to add some more history to the place.

I believe that the old piano is against the back wall close to the ballroom. It doesn’t look like a piano of today. There is a grandfather clock there next to it, which I think has just gorgeous wooden housing. Is it walnut wood? Someone please inform me! I wish I could live there!

It still needs more renovations, I hope it continues to be worked on. It is a SPECTACULAR BUILDING!!
Please let me know about the clock if you know what kind of wood it is.
It IS NOT a hotel where people can stay the night at anymore! I wish there had been at least the top floor with some units that the public could have stayed in. I would think that would be a bigger money maker than renters. The elevator is original to the building, and open for looking into, but I don’t believe for actual transportation.

I wonder if it’s haunted!? I’m jealous if you live there! Enjoy your visit to the restaurant and be kind to one another.

It’s very good I got the chicken cordon Bleu and we got the fondue as an appetizer. The steak soup was delicious…. the baked potato was good. Came because of Gordon ramsay, stayed because of the delicious food. Give it a try!

Summer is here, this maybe is the best local outdoor dining you could ask for! Great food, well worth the price tag.

Really fantastic steak! I had the rib eye, my wife the filet.

Both cooked perfectly medium rare over mesquite wood.

The flavor fantastic, service awesome!

Try the carrot cake for dessert!

It was superb.

Wonderful vibe, especially on a warm summer night. Well equiped for all nights, however, with a nice covered patio with heaters. Food is top notch and we are lucky to have a place like this in town. Please support Grant’s.
