A great way to start the day. The 4th of July, America’s Independence Day. That great start was with a perfect breakfast at Granny J’s in the sleepy little Kansas town, Coffeyville. Yes, it is the place where the Dalton gang died of lead poisoning in 1892. Allow time to visit the museum while you are there.
The food and service were perfect. Check the pictures. The restaurant is in a beautiful old historical building in downtown. The service is small town friendly, even though the staff was working the holiday.
The best breakfast in Kansas. They cover lunch also. Be sure to check the hours of operation before you go.

I came in to try their French toast and was not disappointed at all. I tried the caramel pecan French toast with their cinnamon butter and it was so good. I had to take some to go. I will definitely be back for lunch and dinner and try their in house jelly.

I most definitely had a great experience at granny J’s very welcoming, friendly faces, inviting atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious homemade for big appetites. Homemade jellies, cookies, brownies pie and most definitely you must try the homemade biscuits. Just like Grandma’s. A must go to if you’ve never been. Can’t wait to go back!

Passing through on the way to Kansas City, we stopped for dinner at Granny J’s. It was almost closing time (sorry again!), but they accommodated us with a smile. Had some of the best fried catfish of my life, and really enjoyed the green beans. Great price for the amount and quality of food. Would definitely stop here again.

First off, I was in Coffeyville for work and essentially ate at every restaurant in the area and this by far was the best!! Granny J had us laughing, and Pappy was back there swinging out our plates as if my Uncle Pappie was back there cooking! When we come back my family will definitely be stopping in again for brunch!
